Michigan Friday: Should We Be Worried About Jadyn Davis Elite 11 Performance?

No, we should not be.

Jadyn got a late invite to the Elite ll and started off strong but seemingly has had an up and down Elite 11 camp.

After the first night:

"Out of the 20 finalists, Davis throws the best ball. He has excellent mechanics and exclusively throws tight spirals. He's a player you want to watch throw more and more, even against air." - USC Athletics for SI

"Davis arrived in Los Angeles hoping to remind everyone that he can spin it. He did just that as he was accurate and played with a sense of urgency. Davis was one of the best when it came to trying to attack the short to intermediate parts of the field." - Andrew Ivins 24/7

"Michigan commit Jadyn Davis showed some improvement over the course of the workout, looking more comfortable as he settled in. Davis spun the ball well and had some nice passes over the course of the evening. He looks to have the longest release on hand with an pronounced backstroke within his throwing motion." Charles Power On3

After Day 1 Jadyn was ranked 11th.

Davis was hot and cold on Thursday, but we still believe that he’s one of best in the group when it comes to layering the football to the short and intermediate parts of the field. It was also encouraging to see him get some zip on his deep shots. - Andrew Ivins 24/7

In Day 2 competition he was 13/20 on throws and finished ranked 17th.

This inconsistent camp performance has some questioning his 5-star ranking.  Which I say, "so what?"

I would rather have a guy loaded with talent, that is smart and willing to work when he gets to Ann Arbor.  I have no idea what type of QB coaching he has received to date.   What I do know, is when he gets to Michigan, he will have the best QB coach in the country, Jim Harbaugh waiting for him.

  • There are reports that Kobe is blowing up and could be a lottery pick next week.
  • WR I'Marion Stewart is announcing his decision today. 👀
  • DL Deyvid PalePale will be announcing his decision on July 1. 👀
BHB Triva: Can you name the former Michigan committed Elite 11 QB's? (I added the answer to yesterday's post)

Enjoy Father's Day and the US Open!
