Michigan Football had hoped to go 4-0 this weekend on the recruiting trail. They will have to accept .500 average, as they went 2-2 this weekend.
The first player to commit to the Wolverines this weekend was Chicago 4-star WR I'Marion Stewart. IMS is 6'1 and 180 pounds and had offers from the likes of Wisconsin, ASU, Colorado, CAL, Georgia, Miami, PSU, Tenn, Texas A&M, Washington, and more. He has always been a Michigan lean and on Friday decided to shut it down.
The second player to commit wasn't a surprise, but pulling the trigger on a commitment this weekend was. The Michigan coaches wanted a 2nd RB in this class to join Jordan Marshall and thought very highly of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman RB Micah Kaapana who had over 1000 yards rushing his junior year. Kaapana is ranked as a 3-star at 5'11 and 195 pounds. His offer list is what you might expect for a Vegas player, with offers from ASU, BYU, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Utah, WSU, and Hawaii. Experts believe Mike Hart got a steal with this commitment.
Those were the wins but Michigan also took a couple of losses.
Athlete Boo Carter coming off a Michigan visit decided his heart was at Tennesse and Michigan LB target Aaron Chiles surprised everyone by committing to Florida this weekend. Chiles was down to Michigan, Maryland, and Florida.
- After all the news about Jadyn Davis struggling at the Elite 11, he lights up the 3rd day during 7-on-7 and gets named to the Elite 11 in the final standings. 👍
- Michigan started to get predictions for OT Michael Uini and DE Devon Baxter. How many rooms are still available at the Inn?
- In the least surprising thing ever, Bob Huggins flamed out at WVU. He replaced Coach B when he headed to Michigan.
- It seems Alan Bowman is in line to start at Oklahoma State. Which could mean there are 4 current or former Michigan QB's starting in college football next season.
On Friday's trivia question, you can add Shea Patterson and Jack Tuttle if you included transfers. Shea was committed to Ole Miss and Jack to Utah while at the Elite 11.
