Michigan is looking to take 5 DE's in this class and more if a few elite guys want to sign up for the Ann Arbor experience. Which means guys need to start jumping on board if they want a room at the Inn. The latest is 3/4 star Devon Baxter who is much closer to his floor than his ceiling.
Devon just recently started to show up on recruiting services this spring as his offer list continued to grow. On3, which some fans believe has Michigan commits under rated has Devon as a 4-star. Devon is 6'6 and 230 pounds and probably as raw as David Ojabo when he arrived in Ann Arbor. The coaches love this kid, who has nothing but upside.
Baxter's late entry into the recruiting game garnered offers from the likes off: Rutgers, VT, BC, Charlotte, Duke, UC, Penn State, Tennessee, Virgina and a total of 21 offers.
With Smith and Baxter now on board, Michigan now looks to Nichols, Rudolph, and Mayo hopefully to round out the Edge class.
- Michigan and OSU are in a battle for 2 talented CB's out of Ohio who will take an official visit to Columbus together. Bryce West and Aaron Scott are the two prospects and both have already visited Ann Arbor. Bryce will take an unofficial trip back to Ann Arbor before he arrives in CBus.
- 4-Star FL edge Elias Rudolph announced he would be making his decision on July 3; Rudolph is coming off an offical to Ann Arbor and just cancelled his offical to Ohio State.
