Michigan Tuesday: Recruiting Predictions are a Tricky Business

24/7 started recruiting predictions with its crystal ball feature and now every new and old recruiting service has followed with their own.  The problem is 16 to 18-year-old kids are hard to predict and many times they will put out a false narrative so people are surprised when they pull a hat off of a table.

Here are a few examples from the 2024 class that effect our beloved Wolverines program:

Michael Uini is a monster of an offensive tackle, he is nearly 6'8 and 300 pounds and ranked in the top 170 players in the nation.  Mike is from Copperas Cove, TX and has offers from all the big boys Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Clemson, FSU, PSU and many more.  Mike is making his commitment this Friday before the holiday weekend.  He has 100% crystal balls to Michigan.  That is a good sign and I hope those predictions are accurate!

Another example is everyone's pal, Deyvid Palepale.  Every recruiting cycle there is a guy that loves every visit he is on and trends to that school right after that visit.   Deyvid is a 3-star defensive lineman that visited Michigan earlier this month and was trending hard to Ann Arbor after the visit.  He visited USC this weekend and now is trending to Trojans.   He was expected to make a quick decision but I'm guessing he may take a few more visits.

Jeremiah Beasley is a 4-star LB from Belleville and a legacy prospect to East Lansing.  He has visited MSU, Michigan, Illinois, and Missouri this month and will make his commitment on Thursday.  This lock to MSU is down to Michigan, MSU, and Mizzu.  The predictions are a tight race between the two instate rivals with Michigan having 58.3% of the CB's to MSU 41.7%.  I guess we will have to find out on Thursday.  (the MSU CB's were placed in 2022)

  • That was a strange College World Series, game 1 close, game 2 Florida scores 24, game 3 LSU scores 18.
  • Charles Woodson tweeted at Ohio CB Aaron Scott to Go Blue.
  • Sam Popper has been hired as the Assistant Director of Recruiting.
