Big Ten Weekend Preview Week 5

We don't have a Friday game this week and only 7 Big Ten games on Saturday.  This is the first weekend we have bye weeks.  Which means there aren't a ton  any good match-ups.

Penn State (-27) @ Northwestern: This is a huge mismatch as the Nittany Lions just put 31 points on a good defense.  What are they going to do against an average or poor defense?  I really wanted to watch how NW came back to beat Minnesota last weekend (not good PJ).  PSU 44 NW 9

Louisiana @ Minnesota (-11): I don't know what the hell is going on in the boat, because they don't seem to be rowing in the proper direction.  A really bad performance against UNC and then a loss at home to Northwestern last weekend with a big lead in the 4th.  Louisiana 24 Minnesota 21

IU @ Maryland (-14.5): There are two things that seem to trouble Big Ten fans early each year?  That question is Maryland and Minnesota good?  We have the Golden Gophers answer. Now only the Terps remain.  We won't get our answer on Saturday.  Maryland 30 IU 17

Illinois @ Purdue (E): These combined teams have 3 wins and 5 losses.  Purdue is trying to rebuild after making it to the Big Ten Championship last year and Illinois should be better.  Vegas doesn't know what to do with this game.  Illinois 21 Purdue 20

Wagner @ Rutgers (NL): Do not watch this game of the week:  Rutgers 28 Wagner Power Painter 10

MSU @ Iowa (-12.5): Neither of these teams had a good week off the field.  One program fired its head coach officially, the other one has its fans trying to fire the head coach's son.   Fun times.  MSU is a dumpster fire right now and Iowa's defense will score enough points to win the game.  Iowa 24 MSU 10

🠉 This is the NBC Primetime game of the week.  I would love to see what the NBC executives are thinking about the Big Ten contract so far.

  • Hutch was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Week
  • There continues to be "smoke" that Clemson is headed out of the ACC, Dabo doesn't want anything to do with the SEC right now.
  • Remember Devin Asiasi?  He was a TE from California that transferred home to UCLA.  I think he got into a little trouble there, but we had high hopes for him in Ann Arbor.  He was signed to the Browns practice squad on Monday.
