Big Ten Weekend Preview Week 7

I can tell we are getting close to Halloween because I can hear fans Booing this week's slate of games.   Another terrible week of Big Ten miss-matches with only one interesting game to see who wins the ugly Big Ten West.   No Friday games this week, as NBC and CBS must love this Big 10 inventory this weekend.

Ohio State (-19.5) @ Purdue: Purdue might be something in a couple years but they are struggling this season.  OSU 38 Purdue 14

MSU @ Rutgers (-4.5): One team just got out of paying their head coach $80M the other continues to struggle to break even in the fruitful Big Ten.  This should be the accountant's bowl.  Rutgers 21 MSU 13

UMass @ Penn State (-41.5): The fighting Don Brown's had high bowl hopes after going 1-0 in week o. They are now 1-6 and looking at 1-7 as they are -41.5 dogs.  I think even James Franklin can coach his team to a win in this one.  PSU 55 UMass 7

Illinois @ Maryland (-14): Maryland was very close to being the story of the year before they got shot down in the 2nd half against Ohio State last weekend.  Illinois has no offense and won't be able to keep up with Tua 2.  Maryland 28 Illinois 6

Iowa @ Wisconsin (-10):  How the west was won? That will be answered in this game.  You can bring in skill players from Michigan and Ohio State but you can't take the Ferentz out of the Iowa Offense.   They now have a 260-pound OT playing QB and head north to play Wisconsin.  The badgers wanted to spread the ball out and throw it but the natural forces in Madison again took over and they are back to the power run game.  If Iowa wants to win this game, the defense will probably have to score 21 points.  Wisconsin 24 Iowa 17

  • Former Michigan recruit Deyvid Palepale was thrown off his high school football team after he posted on social media that his team sucks and does anyone want to be their head coach.   He picked USC over Michigan and other schools.
  • There is no timetable for Juwan's return to his Michigan Basketball coaching duties.  It also seems the super-secret scrimmage is against Marquette this year.   The media predicts this team to finish in 11th place in the Big Ten.
  • Looks like Frank Clark has gone through another opportunity and it's expected he will be traded or released from the Broncos.
