Michigan Friday: News and Notes

  • The Chargers may end up offering Jimmy a contract offer but they sure are not acting like it as they continue to interview everyone under the sun.  Former Stanford head coach David Shaw interviewed yesterday, Dan Quinn, Ben Johnson, and Mike Vrabel (Thursday) are all expected to interview with the Chargers today or this weekend.
  • Miami has a TE that just got approved for his 9th year of college football.  He has had 4 years of season ending injuries.  When he is done, he will be in college for 10 years.   He must have a boatload of degrees by now.
  • Ohio State has hired BOB or Bill O'Brien has its new OC.  Great move Ryan Day!
  • Walk-on OT Noah Stewart from Muskegon has entered the portal for the Wolverines.  He has been at Michigan for 4 years and appeared in 5 games.
  • John Harbaugh says his brother loves Michigan but he also loves the NFL.  Great insight John!
  • There are reports that Juwan Howard is expected to be back next season in a "turn it around or head out of town" year.

Basketball team can't rebound... I'm wondering if the situation with Sanderson has affected the team?

at this point, not watching another Michigan basketball game until Juwan is gone. He's way over his skis. The program is just a mess.

Get Juan out of here....he struck out like 10 time appearing 9 plate appearances. Big disappointment....we are leader and the best!! We don't need anyone who wants to fight other coaches or his own people to prove he is from the street....I hope he can control his anger issues and turn this boat around...Good Luck to him!!

Speech and shocked we won the title...I have watched the Bama and Wash game like 11 times already!!

Blue for life

I bet that Miami player in his 10th year is still majoring in Basket Weaving 101. Lol

Juwan Howard has a 78-46 coaching record during his four seasons at Michigan. He has guided the Wolverines to records of 23-5 and 14-3 in the Big Ten, which won the B1G title. He was also named the Coach of The Year.

A lot of you seem like fake Michigan fans that just regurgitate the hate rhetoric that State fans like to repeat to get under the skin of Michigan fans. Suggest you all learn how to read and Google Juwan's record at Michigan, which I have kindly posted above. GO BLUE!

I do not feel I am a bandwagon fan. I am all in on Michigan.

I do, at least a little, question Howard's leadership abilities. I realize he did go 23-5 and made the Elite 8. Good for him.

In my opinion the culture of a team/school has a significant affect on a team. Harbaugh inherited a dumpster fire and it took some time to establish a winning culture.

My concern is that Howard inherited a winning culture and that culture helped him in his early years. Now, the culture could be going down hill and his best days are behind him. Maybe. I am just saying it is a possibility. Last year we had two top 15 draft picks and Dickinson and missed the tourney.

Second post of this thread is the definition of a bandwagon fan. First sign of distress, I'm gone. Don't share a foxhole with this person...

I called Warde [Manuel, the Michigan athletic director] and I asked him if he wanted me to be the head coach. And he said, ‘Yes, 100 percent.’ And I said, OK then. That’s what I want to do.’ And I told him, ‘Warde, this will not be a reoccurring theme every year. This was a one-time thing.”

Jim harbaugh 2022 after the Minnesota Vikings didn’t hire him.

Goose Thanks for the post.....there isn't a big difference between the little jimmy lies and the tRump lies. Both cut from the same mold. It's all about Me, Me, Me.

For what Jimmy has given to this program, he has earned the right to do whatever he wants. If he wants to go join a commune of monks in the West Indies, then bless his heart, go do it. Will it be hard to replace him? Yes. Will I miss him? 100%, of course. But he's fulfilled his mission here, lighten up and give the man a break. I hope he's back, but if not, I still blead maize and blue.

Why didn't we bring out the National Championship Trophy at halftime of the Ohio St. basketball game at Crisler? That would have been the absolute perfect cherry on top of the cake.

Impressive 73-65 win for UM basketball over a very good 12-4 Ohio St. team.

Brady, I don’t disparage harbaugh because he’s looking at nfl jobs, except that HE said that he was done doing that. Effectively misleading his bosses and the university. He owes us nothing as fans ,he has done an incredible job. However HE said he was done doing exactly what he’s doing. At present other school are recruiting hard & hitting the portal, osu picked up a 5* safety and a 5* QB from the portal. Harbaughs focus has been on interviewing for jobs HE said he would not look into. He just doesn’t seem interested in doing the job he’s being paid to do & he’s still under contract with Michigan so get back to work Jim. Just my thoughts.
