Columbus Dispatch |
Quinten Johnson played his best football in the last few games for the Wolverines. The 5th year safety had a great pass break up in the Ohio State game and caused a fumble in the Rose Bowl. Both plays were very memorable for Michigan fans. Q surprised many Michigan fans when he declared for the NFL Draft. He didn't get a combine invite and many fans thought it was just another hit to Michigan's secondary after Sabb headed for Alabama and the rumored $2M.
Then the rumor broke yesterday that Quinten was headed back to Michigan for his 6th season. Social media confirmed Johnson signed a new NIL deal with Randy Wise on Monday. Insiders are now confirming the intention is for Johnson to stay at Michigan. I don't know if there are waivers or other approvals needed but this does seem like a positive update for Michigan's secondary. Update: Its now officially official.
- Big Mike now refers to his bank account as he signed a $57M contract with the Patriots. As a reminder he was a 6th round draft pick.
- Jon Runyan is leaving the Packers for the Giants with a new contract
- Mo Hurst continues his comeback and signed a 1 year deal to stay with Cleveland
