I will go back to my statement that I wrote in the post game. I believe the Michigan Coaches are not stupid, mostly on the offensive side of the ball. They knew Michigan didn't have an experienced QB and JJ wasn't walking through that door. They also knew this offensive line was lacking experience and quality starts.
Which makes what Michigan is trying to do very strange in my mind. They are acting like its last season and running the same damn plays. This offensive line is not suited for a power run game and Edwards is not a power runner. They are not running special plays for Orji and just asking him to run the wildcat. I'm not 100% out on Warren but he is not JJ and the running game is nowhere near where it was and the offensive line is struggling.
Changes that need to be made:
1. Donovan Edwards is your best WR use him there.
2. Run some damn play action.
3. There must be special triple option plays for Orji or keep him on the bench. Including throws.
4. Open up the run game - Outside zone runs
5. Traditional screens
6. If Tuttle is healthy, put him in the game.
7. Run plays with both Edwards and Mullins on the field
8. Think about removing the FB from the offense and spread the field
9. Find your best combination on the OLine, it seems each week is an experiment
10. If the offense continues to struggle it's Davis time.
To remind everyone, Alabama was in this exact position last season. They lost to Texas at home and Milrose was benched. They fixed things and made it to the playoffs.
Michigan's defense and Wink was exposed on Saturday. He got completely out coached and that is a crime with his NFL background. Everyone that reads this blog knows I think Wink is washed but some fans worried about him being Don Brown. I wasn't worried about that but after the Texas game I'm now concerned he is Don Brown 2. His job was to confuse a college QB and that QB laughed at him as he was throwing TD's. A washed OG.
The offense might get a little bit better as the season moves forward. The defense was supposed to be elite now. They better fix things quickly or this season will be a wash.
- RIP to the GOAT James Earl Jones. That intro in the Big House is something special.
- Money Moody was 6-6 in field goals for 49'ers last night on MNF.
- Harbaugh's new commercial is pretty good

Kudo's for mentioning James earl Jones. Michigan is in a transition phase, not quite on board with the NIL process. I myself said when the NIL started I would stop caring about football. What happened to team re-building, where now you can buy a team. Not sure I want that. Michigan was my last straongghold for watching sports. Yesterday (or two days ago) I posted that Harbaugh should of hit the Portal for a gunslinger replacement. An afterthought is football has changed to a pro-sport and I hate pro-sports. Wish Michigan well but I am out of here. MichiganMan can continue to pick fights (or try) with the rest of you. I threaten MichiganManwith telling his Mommy to stop
I'm in agreement on 100% of your offense comments. Not so sure of your Wink comments - as I really didn't think his game plan was all that off. Just the kids didn't execute. I'm by no means a defense-oriented spectator, so I could be wrong easily. But i'm curious for a bit deeper dive into the Def than "next don brown", who i really saw as one dimensional.
Completely agree. The play calling has been bizarre at best. To me, great coaches find ways to utilize their players to maximize their abilities and not make the players fit their scheme. Campbell and Moore need to find ways to get Edwards in space, out of the slot or routes out of the back field. Donovan needs space he's not a phonebooth running back. They also can mitigate the limitations of the OL by incorporating more misdirection in the play designs. This is not 2023 and Blake Corum and that OL are playing on Sundays.
Scotty, while I agree that we need to utilize the NIL better, not sure you can just buy a team. Have you checked out Oregon? You have to have a solid foundation and then use the portal to fill holes, just like NFL free agency.
Go, I agree with the Wink stuff. I'm sorry, I just see Don Brown 2.0. There was a reason the NFL didn't want him anymore. I get fans thought they were getting the OG of the Baltimore D, but sometimes the students become the teacher and that's what you saw with MacDonald and Minter
Thanks for the reply, makes me think a little bit .....
I agree with everyone! If Michigan has 3 lose by end of the 9th game....they should play Jaden Davis....get him some reps and hopefully he is ready to go for next year.
Guys by Michigan winning a Nattttttty they have filled my hunger for next 25years...everything from here on is all gravy babbbbY!!! Lets go Blue..
Blue for life...
So I saw in the comments section on another site that SM posts are saying Jadyn Davis' family is wanting him to be redshirted this year. Bullah? Probably, but if that's true, why would you want to redshirt unless you want to transfer with 4 yrs of eligibility.
I hope he doesn't transfer.....or else we would be in world of hurt.....
Yeah, i understand that comment. Just in watching the game, I didn't see the sort of defense that Don Brown called. We had man, zone, way fewer blitzes (wish we had more), etc. Brown was one dimension defense.
Hell were are all ready in a world of hurt.
