Michigan Basketball is in a bit of funk right now. They continue to turn the ball over a high rate (highest turnover rate in the Big Ten) and just last Friday got run out of Mackey Arena. They took the floor at Crisler on a strange Monday 6:30 tip against a solid Penn State. Now the Nittany Lions do struggle on the road but like pretty much every Big Ten team they can play.
It was a bit of an ugly game and Michigan lost their lead late but went on a 9-0 run to close out another home win. Michigan's Bigs didn't play well. Vlad had 4 points but the rumor is he is dealing with an illness. Wolf went only for 11 on 4-11 shooting night. Donaldson saved the game for the Wolverines by hitting a late 3 on a 21 point night.
Michigan's bigs pick and roll game works, until it doesn't. Michigan's 3 point shooting works until they miss at a high rate. Michigan's guard play struggles with ball handling and turning the ball over. This team looks like the best team in the nation when everything is working well and looks like Big Ten bottom feeder when it doesn't. Wolf is a really good player but he can't play point and also try to create points.
Don't get me wrong, I love what Dusty has done here. This team is 1000% better then what Howard put on the floor last year. Still this team struggles on doing one thing great as they continue to learn Dusty's offense. I hope they can get back to playing fun like they did early in the season and cutting the turnovers in half.
- OSU might look to former Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo as their next DC.
- Speaking of OSU DC's, ND might look to former OSU DC and former Rutgers head coach Chris Ash.
- Former Michigan TE Kevin Koger has become a "hot" young coaching candidate and interviewed for the Cowboys OC role.
- ND OL Rocco Spindler has visited IU and expects to visit Nebraska. Michigan could be next if he makes it out of Lincoln with out a signature. Though Rocco has probably been to Ann Arbor 20 times.
- You think OSU WR Smith is getting a few huge NIL offers? Rumor is $4.5M is the largest so far.

At this point Michigan basketball is what it is. The biggest problem with Michigan and turning the ball over is you basically have a 7' tall PG. As much of a mercurial talent Wolf is, he can't be the primary ball handler. Many of Michigan's turnovers come with the ball in his hands. Do I like a 7 footer that can handle the rock? Sure, just don't need him to be my primary ball handler.
The tampering is out of control and the feckless NCAA is gutless to do something about it....but hey, buy a kid a burger during covid and hell hath no fury!
having said that....F the $uckeyes, they've tampered enough with other rosters....glad they get their own karma. $uckeyes are like cumela harris; fall ass backwards into success but everyone hates you and realizes you're good for nobody.
