Michigan Monday: Biff is Back and Haywood Announces Today

Biff Poggi is back as a Michigan coach in some capacity, which we expect as a member of Sherrone's staff.  This is a huge hire and a perfect running mate with Sherrone as he continues to learn how to become a great head coach.  Great re-hire!

5-star OT Ty Haywood is expected to announce his college decision today. 👀  Wednesday is the final signing day of the 2025 class.  Haywood is a former Bama commit.

Biff and Haywood today? Yes, please!

  • In a unique move by the GOAT, Chip Kelly becomes the OC of the Raiders.  Ohio State loses both their OC and DC from their Peach Bowl Championship.
  • Michigan Basketball has the Flu and is struggling at a bunch of important areas on the floor but pulled out a win against Rutgers on Saturday.
  • Michigan goes 0-2 with ND OL transfers with Coogin going to IU and Rocco goes to Nebraska.  It seems Michigan made business decisions with both.  Rumors were Rocco was looking for $1M and most considered that too much for his skill set.
  • That was a crazy NBA Trade!
  • I don't think Edwards or Stewart played in the Senior Bowl game.  They practiced but I don't believe they played.
  • Happy Birthday Sherrone!  Let's hope your gift is a 5-star OT!

What happened with Ty Haywood he didn't commit today did he?

Changed his commitment date to Wednesday. Not sure if that's good news as the longer these things drag out they tend not to go our way. Wonder if there's a new player with deep pockets getting involved late in his recruitment?

The Spindler thing just reinforces my opinion that the Larry Ellison thing was a one off, and that Michigan doesn't have a NIL money tree. There's no bottomless pit of cash. Do I think a Rocco Spindler was worth $1M for 1 yr? No, probably not, but don't get me started the state of college sports and the NIL It's obviously the cost of doing business in power 4 college football as both Spindler (Neb) and Coogin(IU) found homes.
