I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July holiday weekend!
Michigan Football had two strong recruiting wins over the weekend and suffered two loses. Let's get to the good news first.
1. The first commit of the weekend was 4-star WR Travis Johnson from Virginia. He is a big WR at 6'3 and 185 pounds. His offer list included UNC, PSU, Miami, Maryland, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and more.
2.The second commit was from 4-star CB Dorian Barney from Georgia. He is 6'1 and 180 pounds. His offer list included the likes of Ole Miss, PSU, Texas AM, Georgia Tech, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and many more.
Both of these commits were important for seperate reasons. Here's the reasons:
Michigan lost a commit to Miami over the weekend. It was CB Brody Jennings who was expected to flip. He is from Florida and decided to stay in state. The Barney pickup was important with the loss of Jennings and CB continues to remain a position of need in the 2026 class.
Next, Michigan was predicted to receive a commitment from 5-star WR Calvin Russell on Saturday night. Calvin was supposed to announce at 9:00 but didn't show until 10:00 and then picked Syracuse. Good Luck to him in the Carrier Dome.
Michigan will need to continue to recruit both positions in the 2026 class.
- Michigan center Aday Mara has arrived in Ann Arbor from Spain, he was waiting on his Visa to be approved.
- USA won the U19 FIBA Basketball Tournament - Michigan's Morez Johnson Jr. is a champion!
- Former Wolverine Mo Wagner has resigned with the Magic. He was being considered for the 6th man of year award before he tore his ACL last season.

my daughter goes to syracuse - shitty dome, bad team, crap town, pretty campus and apparently someone willing to shell out $$$
Brody Jennings lost his dad and therefore wants to stay closer to home.
And then Syracuse almost immediately loses KJ Edwards to the portal a couple of days later. He was one of their only rising defensive players. Maybe Russell should keep the door ajar since it is hard to see action if your defense can't get off the field. Oh, and Cuse ain't likely to crack the upper eschelon of basketball either.
