Game Two Preview: Miami Redhawks

The first game showed us allot of things, most of them bad. We lost the first half 22-10 but won the second half 13-3. So hopefully we use that momentum of playing well in the second half into this weeks game against Miami of Ohio.

Things I want/need to see this week:

Improvements in the offense including:

  • Some type of run game, any would be better then last week. We need at least 150 yards on the ground.

  • Better blocking from the offensive line, at least get in front of someone!

  • Consistent play from the QB position. You don't have to win the game, just don't lose it!

  • Threet starts and plays

  • If Carlos "Santana" Brown is healthy he needs more snaps at QB

  • Our Skill players need to find green! Meaning the offense needs to get them in space so they can make plays. Memo to Offensive line: Block Someone!

Defense:

  • We need to see the 2nd half effort in the Utah game in every game. If we have the 1st half effort, it's going to be a long, long year.

Miami was supposed to compete against Vandy last week but didn't in a 34-13 loss. It also seems Vandy is better then most people thought with a win over the "old ball coach" last night at home. I expect Michigan's defense to shutdown the Redhawks and I also expect the Michigan offense to continue to struggle but to find some bright spots. Michigan's Special Teams were really good last week with good returns on kickoffs, a blocked punt, and a 50 yard field goal.

Here are my predictions:

  • Threet plays all game and looks like a real QB. 225 yards passing and 1 pick

  • Running game finds some holes: Grady: 50 yards, Minor: 30 yards, McGuffie: 60 yards

  • Odoms gets loose for a touchdown

  • Shaw takes a screen to the house

  • Defense dominates and holds Miami to a late TD

  • Special Teams continues to play well

  • Defense gives us at least 10 points in field position or a pick 6

Michigan 31 Miami 7

Go Blue!
