My week one predictions were 100% correct. But let's face it, those were pretty easy picks.
Yes, I did get the Michigan prediction wrong (but of course that is in a separate post).
Now on to week two:
Ohio at #3 OSU: Next week is the big test for the Buckeyes. Another Big Ten Network sleeper. OSU 42 Ohio 7.
Marshall at #11 Wisconsin: This could be a very entertaining game but Marshall doesn't have Randy Moss anymore. The Herd scored 35 points in their first game and Wisconsin better not sleep on them. Marshall is getting three touchdowns in this match up (which seems high). Wisconsin 21 Marshall 13
Northern Colorado at Purdue: Not sure I know much about Northern Colorado but it must be a great place to ski. I don't expect the team for Northern Colorado to get tired in this one ( you know the thin air?). This is another fine game on the Big Ten Network. Purdue 31 NC 6
Murray State at Indiana: I just love this time of year when the Big Ten plays ever obscure team in the nation. IU: 32 MS 2
EMU at MSU: Another inter-state battle. MSU is coming off the loss to Cal and will look to take it out on the poor Eagles of Eastern Michigan. MSU is giving 24 points. MSU 28 EMU 10
Eastern Illinois vs #24 Illinois: One more inter-state battle for you. This time it's war! OK, maybe not. Zook 41 EIll 14
Northwestern at Duke: This might be a really close game with both programs on the rise from the basement. Duke is getting 6 points at home. NW 18 Duke 14
Florida International at Iowa: Wow, awake the neighbors for this great game. Iowa is giving a strong 27 points. Boy these games are great tests for the Big Ten: Iowa 31 FIU 9
Minnesota at Bowling Green: Are you kidding me? A Big Ten team is playing a MAC team on the road? If you are traveling on 75 you will be able to throw a coke can out the window and hit the stadium. There is a nice Starbucks at that exit if you need a quick pick me up. BGSU just beat a ranked Pitt at Pitt. Minnesota barley beat another MAC team at home, advantage BGSU! BGSU 28 Minn 21 (Gophers are getting 4.5)
Big Ten Game of the Week:
Oregon State at #19 Penn State: OSU just lost a conference road game to a former Michigan QB lead Stanford Cardinal team. Now they head back on the road for a 3 hour time change to Happy Valley to play the ranked Nittany Lions. Wow, who put this schedule together? This could be a very good game, Penn State played a vacation destination in it's first game and OSU played a conference opponent that beat USC last year. I like the looks for this one but PSU should have the advantage of OSU being on the road for two weeks and having some jet lag. PSU is giving 15 points which is way too much. If you are a gambler take OSU and the points all day! PSU 24 OSU 21
