Glen Mason Bowl

I joked during the Big Ten Preview that the Minnesota - Ohio State game on Saturday should be re-named the Glen Mason Bowl. Then I received this email from The Big Ten Network (I love it when I'm right):

Mason on Minnesota-Ohio State Announce Team:
A national audience will see the resurgent Minnesota Golden Gophers (4-0) take on 13th-ranked Ohio State (3-1) at noon ET this Saturday at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on the Big Ten Network.Thom Brennaman will call the action with analysts Charles Davis and Glen Mason and sideline reporter Charissa Thompson. Mason has a long history with both programs. A 1972 Ohio State graduate and former Buckeyes assistant coach, Mason later was the head coach at Minnesota from 1997-2006 and led the Golden Gophers to seven bowl games. Mason will be celebrated during a pre-game ceremony as an honorary captain. This will be the first time Mason calls a Minnesota game since his departure following the 2006 season. The game will be the conference opener for both teams. The Buckeyes are seeking an unprecedented third-straight outright Big Ten title while the Golden Gophers will be seeking a signature win under second-year head coach Tim Brewster.
