Big Ten Weekend Preview and Picks

What did we learn about the Big Ten last week? Not much. Michigan gets beat by a MAC school, Illinois gets beat at home after blowing out the Wolverines, MSU beats Northwestern, Ohio State and Penn State continue to roll.

So this week should be pretty interesting with a couple of good games.

Purdue at Northwestern: I read an article this week, that Purdue has a pretty easy schedule to finish the year. Well, not so fast my friends. Even with a loss last week to MSU, Northwestern is still a quality Big Ten team and will be difficult to beat at home. I think there will be a ton of points put up in this one. Vegas has NW as a 4 point favorite. NW 38 Purdue 31

Indiana at Illinois: Which Illinois team is going to show up? The team that beat the Wolverines and looked like a top 20 team or the one that just lost to Minnesota at home. Either way they should have enough in the barn to beat IU. Vegas has "The Juice" over two touchdown favorites in this thrilling night game. IU 21 Zook 28

Wisconsin at Iowa: Wisconsin has seen their top 10 rating bottom out as they have had 3 straight tough losses in a row. Iowa beat IU last week after they had 3 losses in a row. If you just look at the programs you would say Wisconsin should win easy, if you look how at how they are currently playing you would pick the Hawkeyes. Vegas has Iowa as the 3.5 favorite. Iowa 14 Wisconsin 13

Big Ten Game of the Week:

#12 OSU at #20 MSU: Here it is: Michigan vs OSU, Bo vs Woody, the rivalry continues. Ok, maybe not, but this game will have to do this year as Michigan tries to find something close to a offense. MSU likes to run the ball with Javon Ringer, OSU likes to run the ball with Beanie Wells. This game should only take 2 hours to play. This is a Mentor vs Mentee match up, where only the strong defense and running back will survive. Both these teams believe in old style Big Ten Football where you only throw if it's 3rd and 9. MSU always fades in October and OSU always rolls, so what should we expect in this one? Lot's of yards on the ground and a field position game. Vegas has MSU favored at home by a field goal. I agree. MSU will find away to win this battle. MSU 21 OSU 14

The game played in Happy Valley will be previewed on Friday.
