With Stephen Threet mostly likely out against Minnesota this week due to a concussion. The starting job would go to back up walk QB Nick Sheridan followed by Freshman (now turned slot receiver) Justin Feagin.
- David was a 3 star QB from Statesboro, GA in 2006
- He was rated the 33rd Pro Style QB in that class (#1 was Mathew Stafford #2 Mitch Mustain, #12 Sam Bradford)
- David is 6 foot 6 inches and runs a very slow 5.12 40. (that speed is a clue!)
- David played in two games for the Wolverines in 2007: ND and Minnesota
- In High School David threw 194-of-395 passes for 3,042 yards, with 27 touchdown passes and nine interceptions over 3 years.
- His team in his senior year went 15-0 and claimed the state championship.
My guess is David had a nice high school career where he didn't exactly light up the stat sheet. He is 6'6 212 and fits the Lloyd Carr big lumbering QB model. I would imagine his lack of speed and mobility makes him a sitting duck in Rich Rod's offense.
With that said, if he can hit a WR on a crossing route, throw a screen pass, or hit a wide open running back running down the sideline. Get him in there. What does Michigan have to lose? Nick Sheridan doesn't have the arm strength to get the ball down field or across the field. Give David some playing time!

Anybody but Sheridan at this point. Give the guy a chance. The players RR has chosen so far hasn't stepped up for the most part, maybe the players he think can't play will.
