Michigan Friday: Time to pay the Mountaineers

Rich Rodriguez first payment of $500,000 is due to WVU on Monday. How hard would it be to cut that check? It's not like your buying a house, your giving money to your old place of employment because you wanted a better job. Between all the cash the current Michigan coaches are paying WVU (Beilein and Rodriguez) you would think, Michigan was opening up a satellite campus in West Virgina. U of M Morgantown has a ring to it. How about the Beilein - Rodriguez Business School?

I think one of the mistakes Tennessee made was not making Lane's buyout much bigger. $800,000 is pocket change for USC, I'm sure USC didn't give it a second thought. Now if it was $4 Million that might have been a different story.

BTW: Huge props out to David Cutcliffe who has turned down Tennessee for the second time to stay at Duke.

  • The Michigan coaches have been it a bit of a stealth mode lately on who they are recruiting outside the regular names. One of those "stealth recruits" maybe visiting Ann Arbor this weekend. That guy is Demar Dorsey an Army All American and 4/5 Star Safety with an offer sheet of just about everyone. Demar seems to be favoring Florida, but is still looking around.

  • 2011 recruit from Columbus, Ohio Ron Tanner says that Michigan is currently leading for his services next year.

  • Former Michigan walk-on QB Lee Mondol leaves South Dakota State. SDSU was his 3rd school. Now looking for a 4th.

  • Leon Hall wins the co-MVP award for the Cincinnati Bengals this year. A good year for former Michigan DB's!
