Michigan Tuesday: Looking Good for a New Hart!

We all know Michigan has had a bit of a gap in the backfield since Mike Hart graduated and headed to the NFL. I guess you could say Michigan needed some "Hart" in the backfield again. Well, the big news today is that Sam Webb from WTKA Radio and Scout says he has a strong "gut feeling" on Demetrius Hart becoming a Wolverine. Michigan insiders expect him to publicly commit to the Wolverines during the BBQ at the Big House in May when he visits with his father.

Demetrius is rated the #26th running back in the nation and he plays his high school football for Dr. Phillips High in Orlando (former high school of Ricardo Miller when he lived in Florida). He is 5'9 165 pounds (Rivals has him listed at 5'8 190) and runs a 4.5 in the 40. Hart was named All Florida Centrals First Team Running Back his Junior year. His current offer list looks like: Auburn, Alabama, Miami, Georgia, Florida State, Ohio State and so on.

  • Trey DePreist the top linebacker in the nation did not make it to Ann Arbor for the Spring Game. Which isn't a good sign for the Wolverines.

  • Another piece of bad news is that Kevin Williams a defensive tackle from Ohio has committed to Nebraska. Kevin had been to Ann Arbor a couple of times but his final two were Nebraska and MSU. Kevin's high school coach and Bo Pelini are close friends.

  • There were reports that John Beilein had offered Dane Fife head coach of IPFW an assistant coach role at Michigan. Dane reportedly turned down the offer.

  • The Big Ten's Waist line could be expanding by a lot! The USA Today says maybe 3-5 teams. Question, will they still call it the Big Ten with 16 teams in it? Maybe it would be the Selected 16? Super 16! One thing we know for sure, the Big Ten is trying to get it the secret 16 for now.
