Michigan Post Game: Wolverines Played UNLV Today

It's 2:30 EST and I have had enough.  The Indiana - Purdue match up is more interesting to me then watching Michael Jordan playing one on one with a 12 year old.

First off: OSU those jerseys were terrible and should have stayed in the locker room.  The reds don't even match.  You look more like UNLV then you do Ohio State.  Lucky for you, it was your only mistake of the day.  Don't let Nike force you to do anything.

  • Its a complete embarrassment that Michigan doesn't have a kicker or punter on the trip.  Hagerup what ever you did, you cost your team at least 14 points in the first half.
  • Roy Roundtree, your 5 drops cost your team a closer game in the first half. Congratulations.
  • Turnovers are what they are, game killers.
  • Isn't it nice for Tate Forcier to remind us what 2009 felt like in the first series of the second half
  • The defense did all they could in the first half and the offense just shot itself in the foot every time.
  • Michigan could have had the lead in the first half just by catching the ball, not fumbling, and being able to punt.  Was that too much to ask?  I guess it was.
  • I was proud of the Michigan Defense in the first half but the game sort of had the feeling of the Lions- Patriots game on Thanksgiving.
  • I thought the game was poorly officiated.
At the end of the day this game didn't matter to the 2010 Wolverines, 7-5 or 8-4 =  bowl game which was the goal for these young Wolverines.  It was clear Michigan had zero chance to win this game with the youth, injuries, and overall skill level it currently has.  It was the only game this year that I felt Michigan really didn't have a chance to win.

Now the Wolverines can heal, recruit, and use the 2 weeks of bowl practice to get better.  I don't expect RR will be fired but he could.  RR you better find away to play some defense and beat the Buckeyes or your stay in Ann Arbor won't be too much longer.

On a side note: When RR was at WVU it always seemed to me that his teams lost the big games,  I could be wrong but that was my impression.

One more game before the 2011 Dee and Denard show begins.

I've been patient and have even been espousing that RR stay one more year, but I think I'm over him now.

There's no excuse for the fumbles and dropped passes. It shows a lack of accountability. If Denard fumbles, put Forcier in. If Roundtree drops more than one consecutive pass, drop him. I'd rather see a less talented player in than sloppy play from our first-stringers. And the result can't get much worse. I blame RR for the apparent lack of accountability for poor play. I also think it's poor coaching to only use Forcier when you're forced to rather than as an asset, a wrinkle, that keeps the other team guessing. Not that he's been stellar of late either, but maybe if he consistently had snaps during games he'd be sharper.

The defense looked decent in the first half, but then that's not saying a whole lot. The offense sucked. Let's face it, the offense just hasn't done much against decent competition. Then there's the special teams play.

All in all, I have lost all confidence in RR and his friggin' system. I don't see Michigan ever competing with the Alabama's, the LSU's, Auburn's, and Oregon's. I want a coach who can take the talent he has and make it play better than people expected, whether through innovative scheming or pure motivation. RR doesn't seem to fit the bill.

I don't want a dogmatic coach married to a system. Didn't like it with Bo, don't like it with RR.

Though I see the logic of giving RR one more year, I can live with cutting our losses now provided we get a true top-tier coach. At the very least, RR must be forced to let the Defensive Coordinator, whoever it may be, have free reign. I truly believe it's RR's inflexible belief in the 3-3-5 that has held the defense back for so long. If anything, the defense showed more progress in this game that the offense.

And if RR goes, at least he will leave the Michigan fan base with a strong taste for an explosive offense instead of the staid, ineffective "3-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust" philosophy.

I'm not sure Jim Harbaugh is the answer either. He's a jerk from what I've heard. And he's bad-mouthed Michigan quite a bit in the past.

Wake me when this nightmare is over.

where do we go as far as another DC? I hope we don't promote any skill position coaches within.

If anyone has any ideas please throw it out there. i need some type of SANITY for next season.

I believe Tressel took it easy on our D because it would benefit him to see GR back next year.

GO BLUE!!!!!

i know this might be way in left field, but why can't we find a sideline mascot. I understand we can't have a wolverine on the sideline, but can't we come up with something unique and creative. WE ARE MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!!

Michigan players and coaches are judged by how they perform against Ohio State. After 3 years of supporting Rich Rod I've finally decided to change my mind. I'd want to see him gone.

I've realized that I made the same excuse for him, youth is the problem, each of the past 3 years. For those who say 7-5 is an improvement from 3-9, 5-7, let me remind you that a 7-5 record for Michigan IS rebuilding.

Derek Dooly, first year coach at Tennessee, is 6-6 as first year coach. They are rebuilding. 7-5 Michigan, we ARE STILL REBUILDING so might as well find a fresh start.

Rich Rod, F YOU.

you are correct, we are not in rebuilding mode anymore. we are looking for the right DC to run this 3-3-5 defense. as rumor has that there is a candidate out there who might join us this spring when the bowl games have been played. his defense this year ranks in the top 20. i'm not giving names cause i hate to jinx it. but if this happens we will be the old Michigan, but with a spread attack and a great defense.

Hoke tried to get the coaching job when Lloyd stepped down, but the old AD turned him down. This was when Hoke was at Ball St. now he's at San Diego St. and got his team playing great. SDS played a close game with TCU. I think Hoke would've been perfect for the job. The word is he could Minnesota Golden Gophers new HC next year. If he doesn't take it, then we will face him in 2011, cause MICHIGAN plays San Diego St.

Like always GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
