Michigan Tuesday: Urban Recruiting and Bust Awards

First a couple of Michigan recruiting notes, Head Coach Brady Hoke will be visiting Ringer and Bolden today in Ohio.   Both are trying/planning to enroll next month.  Bolden tweeted he just picked his classes at U of M.  The rumor Bolden wants to take a visit to Columbus seems like its being fabricated by the Buckeye faithful.    I think Ringer is working on a couple things before he was cleared to enroll.

Urban Meyer:

Is taking full advantage of being allowed to recruit while the current  Buckeye staff coaches.   Urban last night landed two recruits who were verballed to other schools.   He took Michigan State's and Penn State's top rated players in DE Se'von Pittman and DT Tommy Schutt.   Both of these young men were interested in Michigan but the Wolverines were full at both positions.   There was even a rumor Se'von tried to commit to the Wolverines.

Team Bust:

All these players, "Lift me up".    Just kidding.

MVP: Denard

The Dr. Arthur D. Robinson Scholarship Award, given to the "leading senior scholar," was won by defensive tackle Will Heininger, who is majoring in sport management.

The Hugh R. Rader Memorial Award, given to the team's top offensive lineman, was won by Rimington Award winner David Molk.

The Roger Zakoff Award, given to the team's best linebacker, was won by middle linebacker Kenny Demens, who led the team with 86 tackles.

The Robert P. Ufer Bequest was split by defensive lineman Ryan Van Bergen and tight end Kevin Koger. The award acknowledges the senior who "demonstrated the most enthusiasm and love for Michigan."

And, last but not least, Mike Martin won the Richard Katcher Award, given to the team's best defensive lineman.
