Preview: Bye Week

A dream day for many wives - shopping with Jon Bon Jovi.
I think he might even be holding your purse.
Time:  All Day on Saturday
Location:  Yard Work or Shopping
Weather: 70 with scattered storms in A2
TV: None
Line:  -$250

The Michigan Wolverines have the weekend off and I'm sure many of the players will travel home for a relaxing weekend with their families.   The coaches are hitting the road and doing a little bit of recruiting and might be home on Saturday to introduce themselves to their family members.

The rest of the Big Ten is starting conference play minus the Purdue Boilermakers who are hosting Marshall.  Hopefully the Michigan players and coaches get a chance to do a little scouting on a game that won't be that interesting to watch.

What about the rest of us? What are we supposed to do?

I am here to help.   Follow this agenda to make everyone in your household happy.   This agenda is for a family of 4 with a wife, daughter and son.  Please adjust for your family unit:

8:00AM:  Get out of the house early and head to Starbucks for your wife's favorite drink.   A quick stop to buy some flowers wouldn't hurt either.  (just a thank you for 12+ Michigan Saturday's)

8:26AM: Pick up some donuts and milk for the kids.

8:51:  Drop off your goodwill at home and head to the Home Depot.

9:17:  Pick up all your yard supplies for the day.  Maybe a fall fertilizer for the lawn and some bags for leaves and dead plants.

10:11 - 12:00PM:  Spend close to Two hours working on the lawn.  This feels like you have accomplished something positive today!

12:00 - 2:30:  After a shower, take the wife and kids out to lunch and pick up some new Nike's for the kids.  The wife will want a purse or a new king size sheets.   Go ahead if they are on sale.

3:00 - 4:00:  Watch a little Ryder Cup.  Go USA!

4:00- 7:00 Tune in to Ohio State at MSU game.  Since these are two big Michigan rivals, in your mind justify watching this game with two things:  1) Someone has to lose and 2) You are clearly scouting for the Michigan coaches.   If you figure out a tendency with either team you could email Mattison or Borges with your thoughts and be the reason the Wolverines win both games.

7:00 - 8:30 a late dinner with the family.  You have dropped a bit of coin today so this isn't a black tie affair.   Something reasonable and maybe a class of wine with the wife.

8:48 - 9:07:  Help the wife put the new sheets on the bed.   Make comments like, "what is the thread count on these sheets?"  When she answers, say that was a hell of a deal!  Good job!

9:15 - Sleep time: Put your feet up and enjoy a night game.  You have been super dad for the day and can finally enjoy a day where you had zero Michigan stress or feeling like you can't sleep because your favorite team just laid an egg to a prime time national TV audience.

Enjoy your day!

Go Blue!
