Michigan Adds a WR to the 2013 Class

Michigan has picked up a new commitment from a local skill player in Da'Mario Jones.  DJ is a 6'2 185 pound WR from Westland John Glenn.   He was committed to CMU but the Wolverine coaches have been looking at him for awhile.   He has been a consistent visitor for a number of home games this year and camped at Michigan this summer.  So the coaches know him very well by this point.

Da'Mario is another under the radar type of player and has mostly offers from MAC schools including Bowling Green, CMU, Toledo and New Mexico.  Michigan and MSU have been keeping an eye on him all year.  There was some talk that Da'Mario transferred HS this year and might be the main reason he has gone under the radar.  He says he runs a 4.48 40.    DJ is a 3 star prospect to Scouts and 24/7 and not ranked by Rivals.

"Actually, I was in my school library, and Coach Borges called and I picked up the phone and he said they gave me a full ride. I talked it over with my parents and we felt it was the best thing for me to do. I'm officially decommitted from Central Michigan."

What does this mean for the rest of the class?  My best guess is this has nothing to do with Treadwell and he still has a scholarship if he wants it.   I believe this is a response to Conley wanting to take visits and the Nebraska game where our WR's dropped a ton of balls/couldn't get separation and our best option at backup QB is playing WR.

Conley has been doing very well at WR this year and many programs were recruiting him at WR or DB.  Michigan had offered him at DB but let him know he could play either in Ann Arbor.

He seems like a nice kid with good skills however, looking at the Rival’s tape with the focus just on him in mostly every play (not just highlights) he seems to be pedestrian at times and takes some plays off. It starts off with the kid touching but not catching the ball and it is apparently returned by the other team for a touchdown (not good). On one play or two he didn’t wrap up a tackle and he’s watching everyone else. However, when he’s motivated, he appears to be unstoppable.
