It looks like Michigan is about to lose another 4 star commitment from the 2013 class. There has been a ton of rumblings from Gareon Conley that he committed too early to the Wolverines and didn't get a chance to take visits. Well, the State of Ohio star has now decided to take a visit to Columbus and Ohio State. He hasn't spoken to Coach Hoke yet but we already now how this one will end.
Gareon was also going to visit Cincinnati and spoke to the Michigan coaches and cancelled the visit. The Michigan coaches did not enjoy David Dawson calling Florida when he was committed to Michigan. The Florida coaches called Mattison on what was going on and quickly Dawson was no longer part of Michigan's class. It's not a far jump to expect Conley to receive the same fate.
There still seems to be some interest from Conley's camp still in Michigan so it will be interesting to see how this one plays out. He could de-commit, take visits and then re-commit. Under Hoke we have now seen this situation 3 times and to-date, none of the recruits have re-committed to the Wolverines.
BTW: It seems after Dawson visited Florida he came to the realization that it was too far away from home and is now just considering Ohio State and MSU as his top 2. Too bad he burned the bridges in Ann Arbor.
If you were worried about space, worry no longer. There is plenty of room for McQuay, Green and Treadwell. These 3 now become even a bigger priority.
- Big AL's press conference from Tuesday. Hoke said Gardner was not considered at all? “Yeah. He hasn’t taken a rep at quarterback in a long time. That would not be a smart move.”
- I'm sure you heard of Michael Ferns moment for a freshman RB that just lost his father. If you haven't, there is a new story up from ESPN.
- Hoke believes Denard will play on Saturday but Gardner will get more snaps in practice this week. (what a great idea!)
