Wolverine Wednesday: Steps Out at the 1

If you want to understand the type of person and football player Brady Hoke is recruiting, read this article about 2014 commit Michael Ferns.  To net it out, Michael was breaking away for a long touchdown run and stepped out of bounds at the 1 yard line to allow Logan Thompson a Freshman teammate who had never had a carry to score a TD on the next play.   Logan had recently lost his father and Michael and the team wanted to do something special for him.   The offensive line created a huge hole and Logan scored a touchdown, which was a special tribute to Logan and Logan's father.

The Free Press had this headline yesterday before it was fixed:  Last year's loss to U-M still pains Spartans coaches.   Boy, I wonder how they would feel if they had won?  Well done, Freep.

  • It sounds like Mitch McGary has a ton of personality and talent.    Still don't know about jumping into the cold tub.

  • Michigan is a current 10 point favorite for the State game this weekend.  TE Dion Simms in not expected to play and was not on MSU's depth chart.

  • Recent 2014 offer (and friend of LTT) Denzel Ward will make his second trip to Ann Arbor in back to back weeks.   There is plenty of buzz around him making a commitment.  I will take a Win and a Ward and Green commitment for the perfect Saturday.   Ward is 6'9 and 285 pounds as a junior in High School.  His upside is off the charts.

  • If you missed it, I updated the 2012 Walk On list on the right tool bar.   There are plenty of new names.
