Michigan Monday: Welcome to the Drake

Lots to talk about today, so I will break it into a couple of posts.  The biggest news first:  Drake Harris commits to the University of Michigan.

As everyone expected, Trey Burke decided to give the NBA a shot and he made his decision public on Sunday.   What's ironic is, a 4 star 6'4 shooting guard from Grand Rapids on the same day decided to commit to U of M.   This same guard was recently committed to Tom Izzo at MSU but changed his mind and is now a Wolverine.     Great News for the Michigan Basketball Program, right?

Nope, Drake has decided he wants to play football full-time and he is a borderline 5 star 6'4 185 pound WR who is ranked as one of the top 5 WR's in the country.   He is currently a 4 star recruit to all the sites and could be the state's top player.  Drake's offer list included the likes of:  OSU, Alabama, Oregon, Nebraska, Florida, Georgia and others.

This is the Big Time WR Michigan has needed for a few years now, so it's critical he sticks with this class.   He visited OSU on Friday and committed to Michigan on Sunday which is a great sign.  You can expect Urban to continue to recruit him.   Drake has been to Michigan many times now and seen OSU with his own eyes, let's hope he is solid with the Wolverines.

I'm sure fans of Michigan Basketball wouldn't be too upset if Drake ran bit with the Wolverines on the hard court either.   We will see how that shakes out but right now it's just football.   Drake right now is commit #5 to a 2014 class right now that is scheduled to be around 16-17 players.
