Tonight starts the first round of the NFL Draft. We won't see any Wolverines go in the first round tonight, but I expect Denard to go in the second round on Friday night. Denard might be the only Wolverine drafted. I think someone might pick up Kenny Demens, Big Will and Kovacs late in the draft but I expect most of the guys to be free agents.
I think Craig Roh could be a player with a nice upside as a free agent. It seems he played pretty much every position on Michigan's defense in his 4 years. Good Luck to all the Wolverines on Draft Weekend!
Here is my $.02 on the NFL Draft this year. Don't draft a QB in the first round! Don't do it!
Memo to Lions: Please draft offense lineman and a bunch DB's.
- Michigan is in really nice position for Paramus (N.J.) Catholic teammates Jabrill Peppers and Juwann Bushell-Beatty. Peppers is rated the #2 player in the nation at CB by ESPN and JBB is a 6'7 OL and a top 150 player . Peppers is saying he will visit Stanford in July and will know which school he is going to attend after that visit. JBB would like to make a decision this summer as well. I think Michigan has a great shot at this pair.
- Michael Ferns has accepted an invitation to play in the UA All American Game joining Wilton Speight and Drake Harris.
- 4 star CB Jalen Tabor is taking a mid-week visit to Ann Arbor and might be on campus right now. He might wait until signing day to make a decision and I willing to bet, Michigan's small class will be filled by then.
- Barry Sanders is on the cover of Madden next year and Denard is on NCAA Football 14.
