Michigan Tuesday: Links and Some Useful Information

There isn't much news coming out of Schembechler Hall these days.   So here is a few bullets and links with some items you might be interested in:

  • 5 Star DT Andrew Brown might be considering a summer visit to Ann Arbor.  He is the #2 player in the nation behind Hand on Rivals.

  • Speight did ok but not great at the Elite 11 camp.  He didn't (nobody did) receive an invite to the main camp.  Here is Dilfer's takeOne of the longest commutes to compete at the event came from Richmond, Va. native Wilton Speight. The Michigan commit was also one of the biggest prospects in attendance with regard to his physical stature and Dilfer noted that his size is both his strength and his weakness at this point.  Dilfer on Speight: “He had a nice day. He’s obviously a very physical kid, tall, strong. I think he’s got to get more organized. Everything’s just got to get more organized for him to be consistent. That’s typical for a lot of linear guys. There’s a lot of moving parts.”

  • There is speculation that California 5 star DT Eddie Vanderdoes might not make it to ND after all.  He signed his LOI on signing day.   There isn't any truth to the rumor that he is planning to join his brothers and start a Van Halen tribute band.  Rumors are he would like to play at UCLA.

  • Greg Mattison is the highest paid assistant coach in the Big Ten at $750K.  As he should be!  Big Al is tied for #3 and $600K.   You probably know how I feel about that one.

  • Mgoblog goes into the mind of Big Al.  Be careful in there!

  • ESPN ranks Michigan's schedule next year (I told you things are slow!)

  • Former Arkansas QB Brandon Mitchell will enroll at NC State.  He was considering Michigan but as the coaches said last week, it has to be a perfect situation for this to happen.   Which means it probably isn't.
