Terry Bowden is a big name coach trying to rebuild his career and an Akron football program. They enter the Big House this weekend hoping for a win but knowing they will cash a $900,000 check for playing the Wolverines in Ann Arbor. “Financially, when you play these teams, it’s a big paycheck,” Bowden said. “It helps to pay our budget and to pay our bills. That’s important."
Central got paid as well, they received a $850,000 for making a bus ride south from Mt. Pleasant to Ann Arbor 2 1/2 weeks ago. That's not too shabby for a bus ride, an over night stay, and a couple meals. Central did lose their starting QB and RB to injury, so that wasn't such a good turn of events.
- One name I mistakenly left off yesterday's post was ESPN's #1 player in the 2015 class Jashon Cornell visited Ann Arbor for the ND game. As you might imagine he enjoyed the experience and will be on ESPN 2 on Friday night for a high school game match-up. Insiders believe this could be a Michigan - ND race for the young DE.
- Kyle Kalis got some special coaching yesterday as Steve Hutchinson was at practice and gave Kyle some advice.
- Big AL at his presser said he wants to get Jehu some more looks so he can get his first catch as a Wolverine.
- AJ Williams is questionable against Akron.
