Penn State Preview

Time: 7:00PM EST
Location: Big House
Weather: 54/34 0%
TV: ESPN2
Line:  Michigan -1

Penn State visits the Big House for what was supposed to be a big night game with new jersey and the entire UTL experience.  Well, we know what happened with that plan.

Penn State has a solid defense but has struggled on offense.  They have a good young QB who beat Michigan last year as a freshman and has plenty of confidence.

Michigan did show some life on offense last week but will now be going against a much better defense without their #1 RB.   The most interesting thing will be how many Michigan fans don't attend the game.

Can anyone explain how Michigan is favored in this game?  Vegas seems as confused as we are.

This season continues to tear the heart out of loyal Michigan fans.

I thought Penn State was favored by 2 at the opening line. Either way, we will probably lose. This season of a train wreck will continue. Now is the time after this game to beg Moeller or Carr to rescue the rest of the season and the recruiting class until a new coach is brought in after the season. Unfortunately leadership is needed, and Brandon has shown his ability to have none.

Mo..... i would love to see that!

I think Mo deserved better than his departure and it would be a cool transition out of the toilet, for our beloved program.

Moeller or Carr? LOL Yeah right. Yeah let's bring back Carr who STARTED this MESS by mailing in the recruiting trail and leaving us talent-shy.

If we lose today?? The trigger has to be pulled on Hoke?? Wouldn't it be better to have the recruits know we are absolutely heading in a different direction with the coach and his staff? Find out which ones want to play at UM and go from there? Then the search can take its own sweet time. Another loss will have to put everyone over the edge. One more embarrassing defeat?? What has to happen to in order to move along from Hoke.

First I don't think there is ANY possibility of Mo or Carr coming back. Not sure if that was sarcastic or not, or just wishful thinking?? Either way I think that ship has sailed. In my opinion, which seems to be shared by many, is that the main focus is on firing Dave Brandon. Brady Hoke will not be fired until after the season if in fact he even is fired. They certainly don't want to fire hmm now and then have Brandon hire another. Interestingly enough, most recruits who are wavering in their commitment have said they will de commit if Hoke is let go, not the other way around. It's just a shitty situation. The only scenario that I see Hoke gone before the end of the season is if they suffer HUGE lopsided losses in every game including tonight and MSU. Then maybe, but all indications are that Hoke is here for the long haul.

I actually think they may win tonight. Crazy thought for sure. If they lose tonight then I think they pull the trigger on Hoke after getting their ass kicked by Sparty. Dantanio may actually call off the Dogs when they are up by 25 because he will want Hoke to stay around for another year but Michigan will have 6 losses with no hope of beating the Bucknuts in Columbus. No bowl... No hope for the future with that staff. An interim will finish up.

I know there are folks that are commenting on why there is so much talk about firing Hoke and Brandon. However, think about it... there is not a school or program in this country on ANY level, that will keep a coach that is not winning. The odds of removing a losing coach is about the same odds as everyone eventually dying... 100 %. Why? Because every program wants to win, and their tolerance for losing is very small.

Even though there is nothing publically and officially that has been discussed by the Regents and the front office (president), you can bet that there are folks discussing it behind closed doors. We all want Michigan to win, and Hoke to be successful because he's already here now, but if this season doesn't show promise, you can bet that it won't be long before the administration at Michigan makes a change, and it won't matter what anyone else thinks or says about it. IMHO!!!

Why would they even think about firing Brandon? He's been a CASH COW in his position. Also, many of the other athletic programs are very successful. People tend to think of the AD as like the GM of a pro team. There are some similarities, but many differences. I know that football is "king", but if you look at the whole picture, Brandon is being successful. How about we all pull for this team to turn it around and look toward a good future? That would be a novel concept....
