A Wild Ride NSD Wolverine Summary

This day started in a very unique way:

  1. Michigan gets a surprise commitment from FL RB and Iowa commit Karan Higdon
  2. All Michigan verbal commits send in their LOI's
  3. Chris Clark commits to UCLA a program that doesn't use Tight Ends
  4. Michigan gets another surprise commit from AL Athlete Keith Washington and CAL commit.  Keith never visited Ann Arbor
  5. Mike Weber who took a secret official to Michigan last week, recently met with Harbaugh and was going to commit to Michigan in the morning.  Changes his mind because his friend decided not to flip to Miami and is sticking with OSU and that Michigan took another RB in the morning.

Then the afternoon got pretty boring as Michigan watched Van Jefferson change his announcement time 4 times as we waited for Wheatley's decision.

Then in a matter of minutes Michigan gets another surprise commitment from 4 Star FL DE Sheldon Johnson and 4 Star TE/DE TJ Wheatley Jr.   Which was a very strong close to the day.

All in all Michigan has a class of 14 kids with 8 new commitments since Jimmy took over the program.

Jimmy flipped players from:  Texas, Nebraska, UConn, CAL, Northwestern and Iowa.

This would have been a huge close with Clark and Weber but Michigan only gets one from the headliner group with the Wheat commitment. I give this overall class a B grade.

Michigan might look at two transfers:  One is a TE from Oklahoma the other is a Stanford DB.

The staff did a pretty good job in a month coming from the NFL.  Next year will get a good litmus test on how they can recruit.

UCLA's DC Jeff Ulbrich has been hired as the Falcons DC Fox Sports is reporting.   Which comes out after most of the class has signed.   Guys like KLS, Lockett, and even Roquan Smith had the rug pulled out from under them.   Smith has yet to sign his LOI to UCLA.  Many Michigan fans are wondering if he would pick Michigan.   It's an option for him, but if he doesn't go to UCLA he will most likely end up at Georgia.

  • Wheats LOI is in
  • Johnson's is in
  • All LOI's are in

It's been a fun long day.  Thanks for spending some of it at the Big House Blog!!!

I was surprised Snoop's son went to UCLA. I thought he was a USC lock.

Mora really lit it up! I guess that's easier to do when you go 10-3 back to back and win a couple bowl games.

I wonder how many scholarships urban liar has to offer. I read somewhere they were losing 20 srs... they took 27 LOI's.

GO BLUE

Sorry about the injuries guys, but we over booked our class, so I'm pulling your scholarship.... Best of luck. Urban Meyer

I am not surprised by Jefferson or Marshall. Clark's make no sense based on the system they run, but it is a very good school in LA coached by a former NFL HC so there is that.

Based on the situation, I'd give them a B+.

Roquan Smith has opened his recruiting back up after UCLA's DC left for the NFL. Its down to us and GA.

Richt played football at Miami, Al Golden is on the hot seat there. I don't think its a reach to say that if Golden gets the ax in 2015, Richt is at the top of Miami's wish list.

Regardless of how fast or slow Jim turns the ship around in A2, he's there for four years....

Go Blue!
