Michigan Friday: Big Recruiting Weekend

Michigan will host a number of visitors this weekend.   None of them are on commit watch but there are some guys that are very serious about attending Michigan.   This list comes from Rivals and 24/7 with a hat tip to Mgoblog:

  • Five-star WI OT Ben Bredeson will be in A2 this weekend.  Ben has been on Michigan' radar even before Jimmy arrived and is considered one of the best lineman in the Midwest.   His brother Jack is committed to playing Baseball at Michigan next season.   Which sort of gives the family a bit of conflict if they should be in A2 or down in Louisville supporting the baseball team.  Below is a picture of Jack signing his LOI.

  • Four-star Farmington Hills Harrison DE Khalid Kareem will also be in.  KK was Jimmy first visit after he took the Michigan job.   Khalid has been to A2 a few times but has a ton of good offers including Alabama, Harvard, Yale, Oregon, OSU and Notre Dame.

  • Four-star IN WR Austin Mack will be in on Saturday but he is strong OSU lean.

  • Three-star ATH Kiante Enis and four-star all-purpose back Chris Evans are both heading north this weekend.  Enis could play pretty much anywhere and Evans right now doesn't have a Michigan offer.

  • Three-star Paramus (NJ) Catholic WR Donald Stewart will be making his first trip to Ann Arbor and for sure will see his former coach who is not on staff.   Rumor is he is close to a commitment and could pull the trigger quickly after his visit.

  • Three-star MN ATH JD Spielman is committed to OSU for Lacrosse but is very interested in looking at some football options.  Yes, he is related to the famous OSU Spielman and the adopted son of the Vikings GM.

  • 2017 four-star QB Dylan McCaffrey
  • 2017 in-state DE Corey Malone-Hatcher
  • 2016 commits Brandon Peters and Matt Falcon will also be on campus and doing some recruiting.

More 5th year QB transfer news as Oklahoma State's QB Daxx Garman Transfers to Maryland and will be eligible to play right away.

  • Four-star NJ OT Will Fries completed a visit to Ann Arbor this week already and had very positive things to say about the visit and the Wolverines being in his top group.  His 23 offers include: Wisconsin, Pitt, BC, PSU, Miami, Maryland, Duke, Clemson, South Carolina and many others.
