Wolverine Wednesday: Rumors in Shoe Wars and Justice Finds a Team

So the rumor mill is spinning on the Wolverine Shoe Wars and of course I have the rumors for you.  Michigan Rivals reporter Chris Balas tweeted this:

The other rumor is that Adidas increased their bid by $4M over Michigan's current contract.   If Chris is right about Nike, that means "The Swoosh" really opened their wallet, because they don't pay schools anywhere near what Adidas has been paying Michigan.

My personal feeling is this is long from over and the negotiations are probably just heading up.  The clear fact is, that the Michigan student athletes very much prefer Nike.

Side Note:  Those Michigan Damian Lillard's they released a month or so ago, might be very valuable if Michigan does switch to Nike.    I saw a guy selling a pair on eBay at $950 for one pair!

  • I have always been a fan of Justice Hayes and thought his speed and running ability was never used properly in Michigan's offense.   Was that the head coach, OC or RB coach Fred Jackson? Hard to know for sure but Justice will get a chance to prove he is a good running back at Southern Mississippi next season.  If your wondering Southern Miss was 3-9 last year and 1-7 in Conference USA.   Good Luck Justice!

  • Rashan Gary will visit  Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Notre Dame in one long trip starting around June 25th.

  • Michigan's Satellite Camp in Fresno, CA will be attended by top Michigan recruit: 5 star OLB Caleb Kelly.

Justice Hayes sucked. never saw him make anyone miss or break any tackles. Totally useless player....

I have not followed his progression closely...but a lot of Michigan transfers do well enough to get drafted, and lets hope ( at least me) Justin Hayes proves you wrong and excels. Justin > kick booty, okay?
