Michigan Friday: Commitmas Continues!

Rivals 5 Star LB Jordan Anthony made it official last night at 7:00 that he would be a Michigan Wolverine next year.   There really wasn't any drama to this announcement as it was rumored that JA was a silent commit for some time.    I won't go too deeply into a write up as, I covered it yesterday in the expectation that he would be Blue.

The newest and next announcement is from Paramus Catholic High School LB Drew Singleton.   Drew is a Under Armour All American and the top ranked LB in NJ.   He tore is ACL in September but is nearly fully healed and will be ready for Spring Practice.  Yes, Drew plays at Peppers HS and has been on campus a number of times.   His team even played in the Big House in September before he got hurt.

Drew's final list includes:  Michigan, MSU, Clemson and Pitt.  Drew is 6'2 and 215 pounds and a 4 star LB to all the services. His full offer list includes the likes of Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Miami, ND, Ohio State, Tennessee and many more.   Drew is pretty much considered a top 100 player nationally to all the services.  24/7 composite has him ranked as the #66 player nationally.

Drew announces at 6:00 tonight.  I like the Wolverines chances.

Now to some terrible news, I'm sure you have heard by know that Grant Perry has been suspended and his future as a Wolverine is highly in doubt.   Grant got into trouble in East Lansing during Michigan's bye week and is facing a number of charges including:  assaulting, battering, resisting or obstructing an officer, plus two counts of fourth degree sexual assault and a minor-in-possession charge.   These are all serious charges and Grant is looking at a very long road to get back
on the team.

Grant was clearly being punished during the season and missed a number of games, before he was officially charged.  Now that he has, he has been suspended indefinitely.

  • The Michigan Basketball Team got by Furman last night 68-62.

  • The Basketball Team also got a 2018 commit from instate PG David DeJulius.

  • Michigan is getting their FB/TE back for another year as Khalid Hill will be back for his 5th year.  His nickname is the Hammering Panda.

  • Jimmy's staff is losing a great recruiter as Tony Tuioti is leaving to become the DL coach for Fresno State.
