Nobody saw this coming outside of new Hoosiers head coach Curt Cignetti who came over from James Madison. Curt brought in a ton of his old players and a bunch of new players from the portal that fit his system, and his team is 9-0 with sights on playing Oregon in the Big Ten Championship.
His schedule has been very light to date, but they host Michigan this weekend and travel to OSU next. There could be an argument made that IU's strength of schedule is not really improving this weekend as IU is a 2 TD favorite.
Dear Sherrone,
Well coach, you and your staff were flat out bad in the Oregon game. Preparation, game plan, and in came adjustments graded out as an F. You and your staff failed the program and your players.
That is not acceptable on any level. The expectation is you and your staff will be better this week and have a better outing. We all understand this season is a wash and the next three games is complete non-embarrassment mode. This game believe-it-or-not is winnable if Wink is awake and functioning at some level we haven't seen this year. He has been a complete disaster and should not make it past Monday after the Ohio State game.
Michigan will have to do 2 things well to have a chance on Saturday. Move the ball and score points with every offensive possession and rush the IU QB effectively with 4. Michigan will have to play zone coverages and pressure, pressure, pressure. It would be great if Michigan's defense wins at least one game this year. Remember, they were supposed to win them all.
This season is done but you still have work to do on the recruiting trail. Keep the momentum going and land Underwood and we will give you a pass on this season. BTW: this pass is good for this year only.
Time to be better in all phases.
Michigan 24 IU 38

Offense isn't capable of scoring more than 13 pts a game. Defenses load the box and cover the tight end crossing. Done.
This has turned into a hate watch. I will be laughing every time Curt Cignetti out-coaches Sherrone and his cast of flunkies. I feel sorry for the UM players though, they deserve better.
Indiana- 42, UM- 13.
My question to my fellow Bighousebloggers- Is this worse than Rich Rod and Brady Hoke?
Wink is quoted "That they will hit the portal hard thus time around, nothing like instilling confidence in the players you have. Wink is a genius at work. Blame the players and not yourself. Wink has no dink! (or brain matter)
I believe Hoke (the joke) was the worst of the two. Rich Rod was beginning to turn things around. Hoke beat Ohio State with Rich Rod's team. Rich Rod also won a Pac Ten championship, before U of M recovered from the "doldrums".
Anybody catch Winky this week? First he goes on record that he knows nothing about NIL, he doesn't even deal with it. Then he said he doesn't see Michigan's bad tackling as a problem. HUH? This guy is exactly who I thought and feared he be: A guy just wanting a pay check, nothing more!
Yeah, we all know Michigan wants to run and IU did a really good job shutting down MSU's running game last week. MSU rushed for -36 yds, which I get includes sack yardage, but they still shut them down. Conversely MSU ran at will on us, especially on 3rd down
Oh boy, good question where to start. Many won't remember, but Rich was offered the Bama job but got cold feet and backed out. His problem was he was never accepted by the fanbase or the boosters. I was told some solacious rumors about some of the backroom going ons, but since I would never be able to corroborate them I'll keep them to myself. If true, Rich was set up to fail, which is what I think Sherrone is set up to do.
Hoke was a result of that stupid Michigan man bit. Always thought that was a dumb strategy, why limit your coaching candidate pool!
He's a buffoon! He always said he didn't think Michigan missing tackles is a problem
Wink realizes he's on the ledge of being irrelevant. He's been bounced around the NFL and was hoping to revive his career at UM. He inherited the #1 Defense with many weapons returning and quickly made them average at best. When I heard him talking, I heard a man that knows his career is about to be over and he's trying to save his @ss. Another year? No sir, this is UM...we can still draw elite coaching talent. You are better suited to be in a Marvels movie as Thanos' brother than running an elite defense. Like Thanos, nobody should ever question you!
Bob, there is NO WAY Michigan is losing this game.....Mich 27 vs Indy 21.
Someone got into some bad Kool-Aid
ScottyDoggs- You're right, RR was turning things around and finally had the right players for his system. RR's biggest miss was not bringing Jeff Casteel w him to run the defense, although I've heard the assistant coaches' salary pool was maxed.
Chowman- Bingo! The Michiganman pedigree got Hoke the job. At least he had previous head coaching experience (unlike Sherrone). If Warde hasn't learned anything from our mistakes of the past, we're in trouble.
Interesting side note to the Oregon game. Dan Lanning called timeout late in the game so that his players could watch our fans filing out. Lanning was the ringmaster as he organized his team to revel in this. To take things a step further, Oregon players started to heckle and insult Michigan fans. The laughing and mocking continued until the timeout was over. I hope Sherrone or someone at Michigan is keeping receipts.
What would you like to wager?
Dang, I can’t believe we lost this game all this damn field go across this
