As you know I'm not of fan of Wink, I think he should be launched into that XFL/USFL league where all beleaguered coaches land when their careers are over. I have a few people in Wink's category including ESPN's Hannah Storm, I have no idea why I can't stand her but I want to rip my hair out anytime I hear her voice or see she is hosting Sportscenter.
Wink did something yesterday I have been asking for all season. He made an in-game adjustment and it worked to slow down the high powered IU offense in the 2nd half. His unit did enough to win the game, Michigan's offense did not. Hat tip to you Wink, sorry it didn't get you a win. (I still want you coaching the Birmingham Barron's next season)
Now to the offense. Everyone wants to blame Kurt Campbell and he should take some blame. But make no mistake, this is Sherrone's offense. It is high school basic. The only way you run this offense is if you clearly have better players then everyone else. Sort of like Alabama used to run. I watch a ton of football both college and pro, outside of Florida State and maybe Air Force. Michigan has the legit worst offense I've seen this year. Even when the offense line protects Warren he doesn't seem to have anyone to throw to. Even Michigan's trick plays are known. That flea flicker was completely covered. This unit lost the game on Saturday. Did anyone have any confidence in that 2 point play call? I sure didn't.
By the way, Michigan's kicker might be the team MVP.
I know Curt Cignetti never looks happy but he almost looked mad leaving the field after the game. I have a theory, Michigan put on a tape how to beat his team. If Michigan had anything close to a functional offense, the Wolverines win by 10+ points and Curt knew it.
Cheers:
- Wink's halftime adjustments
- Zvada = MVP
- Tommy averaged 47 yards per punt
- Jordan Marshall sighting!
- Berry with a pick
- 4 sacks!
- TJ Guy was unblockable for a quarter
- Edwards ran hard
- Barham plays better each week
- Jimmy Rolder is going to be very good next year
Jeers:
- Offense where art thou?
- Sherrone do you understand how challenges work?
- CBS was again terrible. The sideline reporter has Michigan playing Nebraska this season and Dusty Danielson thought Michigan was playing Iowa.
- When Orji is in the game and you run him in the middle, you are going to get him hurt. Everyone knows it's coming
- Tommy that last punt of the game was a stinker
- Michigan DB's were getting roasted in the zone coverage in the 1st half
- Nice 2 minute offense when the game is on the line. What was that? 4th down and 11 and Michigan has a 3 yard route?
Michigan didn't play poorly they just again were out matched by a better team. If this damn team showed up against a terrible Washington team and an average Illinois team. This season would at least been a little bit better. Michigan now has to beat Northwestern to be bowl eligible for a bowl I believe they should decline. Can you imagine how bad this team would be with all their stars opting out?
How about IU's QB? He is a 6-year MAC transfer. Do you think he would've been interested in starting in Ann Arbor? A complete off season failure by Sherrone and Warde. Sherrone looks completely lost on the sideline. I'm now in the camp if he doesn't flip Bryce, Michigan needs to go in another direction next season. Michigan at a minimum needs a new OC and DC next season.

I don't think they're going to fire Moore after just one bad year.. if it's like this next year then his job is definitely on the line.. Michigan lactgameme breaking speed at wide receiver no long throws, can't stretch the defense at all.. injuries to the offensive line is hurting the running game... I did not expect them to lose to Washington and Illinois.. and nobody knew that Indiana was going to be this good this year.. the Ohio State game is going to be hard to watch it'll be over by halftime..
The most humane way to remove the Michigan caching staff is to have the Michigan Alumni fund a movie they can all star in > offer them high paying roles in the remake of "Clueless". If you do not like that idea then settle for "killer Clowns" part two: they are more than qualified because they killed our season.
That is Killer Clowns from outer space to coach that bad they have to be alien to the football culture. Wink's favorite song is AC?DC "have a drink on me".
As Bob said, when Alex Orji comes in at QB, everybody and their brother knows what type of play is going to be run. The special packages for Orji need to end. Either insert him at RB or some other position. Leave Davis Warren in at QB. No more switches!
Unbelievable...1st and goal from the 6th yard line, results 3 points. 1st and goal from the 7th yard line, results...3 points. What a joke.
Tackling was still piss poor, especially in the 1st half. I also think IU's OC puckered a bit when Rourke threw the pick on the RPO. I thought the play calling went from pedal to the floor, to lets not lose. I will say I thought Wink called a better game, but he's just as likely to revert back to the DC we've seen most of the season. It's why some of us compare him to Don Brown. He'll respond to criticism to show you he can change, only to go right back to what he was doing before, because its his way.
This coaching staff can suck my balls. That is all I have to say.
Yep. That's as bad as it gets.
Ron my friend, we have the worst head coach in college football. Why would you reward him with another season?
Here's the problem: If you bring Sherrone back, he's going to have to address the staff. He needs a new OC for sure, and I'm with Bob on the Wink sucks train! The issue, is nobody worth a squat is coming to AA if they doubt Moore has job security. Another 6-6 or worse, you keeping him? He's losing 5 probable first round picks in the NFL draft. If we had a competent AD, Moore would be fired after the OSU game!
Rourke is why I think NIL money is better spent on college players in the portal. HS are such a crapshoot! The non power 4 schools are going to be the minor leagues for the power 4 teams.
I'm over the Alex Orji thing. For the sake of the team, and him, he got lit up twice, they need to give up on him ever being a QB. Son you want to play TE? RB? WR? LB? No? Ok, here's how you enter the portal!
Word now is that Underwood is closing in on $10m in NIL. That’s just stupid. If it works out, you’ve set a terrible floor for the future. If he’s is a flop, then you’re just a stupid program.
Goblu just described everything that is now wrong with college football in three concise sentences.
Enormous pressure. When much is given, much is expected.
Go, if that's true, I'm a hard pass. You talking about NFL money for a HS who has yet to play one snap in college. Underwood could as easily be the next Spencer Rattler as he could be a star!
