As I wrote after the game, Saturday was one of the worst coached games from Michigan since RR and Hoke roamed the sideline. Even dusty old Danielson was questioning if they knew the rules or not.
One thing I didn't consider going into the season was that the Big Ten was going to need extra officials for the multiple more games that would be played every weekend.
The Big Ten officiating has gone from bad to worse this season. It's just not the Michigan game, I see it in every Big Ten game I watch. Someone should be fired for the missed call on Oregon's first TD. That was a complete miss and a bad one. It's the reason you have review. I don't want an apology from the Big Ten, I want a clear explanation of how these officials are ranked and what happens when someone misses a review so obvious? Human error is going to happen on the field, that should not happen in the booth.
That was the first thing I forgot to mention, the second is the TD at the end of the game. Plan and simple that is a BUSH LEAGUE move by Dan Lanning and the Ducks OC. When he shook hands with Sherrone he better have apologizing for that. The right thing to do is take a knee and end the game. How many times did we see Michigan do that inside the 5 yard line the past 3 years? Numerous times. Respect is earned not given in the Big Ten. This isn't the PAC 12. Good Luck with the rest of your season.
Too Early Look at IU:
Record: 9-0
Best Win: Washington
Pass: 284 (19th)
Run: 191 (30th)
Score: 46.6 points per (2nd)
Give up 13.7 (7th)
Line: Michigan +14
IU found a diamond in the rough with its new head coach Curt Cignetti from James Madison. Curt went into the transfer portal and found his own diamonds and turned IU into a 9-0 football team this season. They have a top 2 offense and a top 10 defense.
The issue is they haven't played anyone but they do still have Ohio State on the schedule. Curt has made such an impact that fans at Ohio State have been clamoring for Curt next year, I would guess Penn State fans might be thinking the same this week and some Michigan fans are thinking Curt might have been the reset the program needed after last season.
Curt was a long time assistant coach that finally got his shot as a head coach and he has made the best of it. Last game, IU was down 10-0 to Sparty and scored 47 unanswered. Michigan will again have its hands full this week. Maybe the Michigan bus should just end up in West Lafayette and see if Purdue is available on Saturday. Well it turns out they are hosting Ohio State, I think the Boilermakers would be up for the trade. CBS just said they are in as well! 😀
Michigan Football has been doing well on the recruiting trail.
- On Friday they got a 3/4 star DL from Benny Patterson who flipped from the Cincinnati Bearcats.
- On Saturday, they got the long rumored commit from 4 star CB Shamari Earls who flipped from Georgia.
Good to see the future is bright with these new editions! Welcome to Ann Arbor!
Last point on a Monday. James Franklin is who he is. He will never change and neither will his program. We have all seen that OSU/PSU too many times to count.
Bengals Video with a nice former Wolverine shout out!
Good dub, on to Thursday.

To make up for decades of Rose Bowls played in sunny climes… all Pac12 teams should have to play a few years of Nov football in the Big10
… my only contribution to this shit-show of a season
Both Campbell and Wink need to depart at season's end. I would state the same thing about Sherrone, except, at this point in time such draconian action likely would disrupt the team too much, particularly for recruiting.
Indiana- 42, Michigan- 13. Our offense isn't capable of scoring more. Curt Cignetti will coach circles around Sherrone.
Teams will not give Michigan any respect when you are a clueless clown show. Lanning wouldn't have scored w seconds left against Meyer, Saban, or Harbaugh.
Let's not confuse recruiting with coaching. Rich Rod and Brady Hoke recruited well here, too.
What good is recruiting top talent when the head coach doesn't know what to do with them? There are currently half a dozen NFL players on this team right now, along with some 1st round draft picks. Talent isn't an issue. It's 100% coaching.
Did Sherrone say anything about the late TD? He prob just shook Lanning's hand and thanked him for the ass kicking. I never see him working the officials, either.
Well gentlemen...it hit me this weekend. We hired our own version of Charlie Weiss. The quicker we realize that and cut ties the better.
Weiss could talk well at the mic and recruit well, but his game preparation and mgmt were bad. This is what we have in Moore, my opinion. He has his guys and a number of first and second round draft picks. Yes, lacking an elite QB but our game planning and execution are below average to bad. JJ would not have fared much better on this team.
No excuses to be as bad as we are with the talent we have. My opinion.
I'd take Charlie Weiss over Sherrone. Lol Sherrone is a good O-line coach, that's where he belongs.
Anybody see Jadyn Davis run a play or two? Neither did I. There's only 3 games left in the season, so you're not going to burn his redshirt. God these coaches are dumb.
and when IU beats us on Saturday, they still won't have played anyone........
I got into with a few fans on another site after the Oregon game about the late TD. Maybe I'm just wired differently, but you don't want Oregon scoring that last TD, stop them! That simple: STOP THEM! Crying about a team running up the score is what losing programs do. Nobody had an issue with Michigan putting up 49 points last year against a bad MSU team. You want to stop teams from running up the score on you: make more plays! get better players, and especially get better coaches. These guys stink!
Gemini, I'm all for cleaning house. I have ZERO faith Sherrone Moore can make the right hires when its comes to his staff.
Brady, there's some talent, but not a lot. The OL is substandard, the WRs are not power 4 caliber and we all know the QBs stink. Defensively, there's not a lot of quality back ups for the DL, LBs are average at best and DBs also lack depth and talent. Somebody was too preoccupied with shaking his ass for the NFL and not on recruiting at a high level!
Wow, you're comparing Sherrone to Captain Frontbutt?
Exactly, UM is not about to fire their first black football head coach. So Sherrone has to get rid of these lousy coaches. And there isn't one of them that stands out as doing well. Wink inherited a defense that was #1 last three years in a row and had many of the weapons returning. They now rank #11....in the B10. Let that rattle around in your head for a minute! Campbell is in way over his head. This coaching is so bad, it's probably the biggest concern of the Underwood family. Ok, they like the $$ but can this staff get their kid to be the #1 NFL pick in 2-3 years. Not this staff. In fact, I truly hope there are UM people making phone calls already to get the best QB and OC coach out there. Wink has spoken like it is beneath him to take a college job and how dare anyone question him. Well, he's shown he can't coach and needs to go kindly into that good night. The cockeyes went and got a defensive coach when that was their weakness. Sherrone needs to do the same.
IU was 3-9 last year, the laughing stock of the B10. Now we are the laughing stock of the B10 and they are making a playoff run. My my how things change when you align the right coaching, players and culture. Jimmy, if you still love UM....find a win/win for this situation. Take Sherone to LA and help Ono select a new AD and football staff. I'll throw in a steak and milk if you do! BTW...from sources inside the program, the culture in the locker room from last year has been destroyed.
Sometime back somebody made a comment, which I thought was a joke, on why Harbaugh didn't offer Moore a job like he did everyone else when he left. Now I'm thinking it was not so much of a joke. Did he know something we didn't?
Unfortunately the only thing Jim loves is Jim. He brought us a Naty, and I'm thankful, but it didn't mean he got to burn the program to the ground when he left!
I've been wondering the same; did JH do this intentionally? Maybe his loyalty to Moore outweighed his loyalty to the program. Wouldn't be surprised given his animus towards Manual. Jimmy is too good of a coach not to have recognized that Moore wouldn't be a good head coach. Add to it he took the best coaches with him and he left an inferior coach to make the choices. He had to know it would be a train wreck. Maybe that was his intent?
