Speechless

This rivalry has always been different. It's almost not a sporting event. It's something different. I lived in Cincinnati for 9 years and Ohio State Football is a religion to their fans. In those 9 years, Michigan won the game once.

This game was so terribly good.  Michigan was nearly a 3 TD underdog and had nothing but pride to play for.   OSU is #2 in the country with an invite to the Big Ten Championship game on the line with a trip to the playoffs.   OSU's offense was full of 5 stars and Michigan had 3 stars and walk-ons playing on offense.   It didn't matter and Michigan just had one of the largest upsets in the history of the sport.

I'm not sure what happened in the game, its a bit of a fog.  I know OSU missed 2 chip shot field goals and Michigan didn't.  Both teams threw multiple interceptions and for a time both teams seemed to have non-functional offenses.

The biggest play of the game was Mullins again choosing violence and refusing to be tackled.  Getting loose on the sideline on a third and 6.   My last comment to my family at the snap was, "I would give it to Mullins" and he proved me right.

That softball throw interception Davis made on the goal line almost made me throw up.  That was one of the worst throws I've ever seen a Division 1 QB make.  Run Mullins and don't be cute.  The play worked, Davis didn't.

I do need to give Wink his flowers.  His defense was excellent today.  Yes, the Buckeyes were playing tight and in a daze, but for the most part he had his crew in the right spots to make the right plays.   OSU only TD was a clear OPI push off by its 5 star teenager.

It was an unbelievable win and a season saver for the Wolverines!   That is why they play the games.  Maybe I'm not so speechless.   Go Fucking Blue!

Cheers:
  • The Team, The Team, The Team
  • Z is the best damn kicker in college football.   Wake up Groza people!
  • Mullins you just went into legendary status my man!
  • Great picks by Hall and Paige
  • Hat tip to the Michigan coaches!
  • Offensive line played the best it has all year
  • The quiet Ohio Stadium!
  • Grant and Graham are so good and will be missed
Jeers:
  • The Don injury, tough to play your last game as a Wolverine and go out injured.
  • The fight was not a good look, but that's on the Buckeyes for being in their feelings.
  • Gus Johnson might have lost his fast ball
  • Warren my man you have to be just a little better than that.

What a great win and wonderful way to enter next year.   Yes, Michigan will play in an exhibition bowl game with a much different roster then even today.

Next stop is Wednesday and signing day!

Day, Blackbeard might be looking for another job pretty soon... Playing without Loveland and the second half without Donovan .. and we still got the win!!!! This was so sweet.. that Columbus crowd was shocked... I can hear the Ohio State senior players crying in their locker rooms so sweet🤗

Landed and was expecting a loss. My phone lit up, and I knew we won before saw the score!

Never happier to have my prediction go wrong!!

I guess we owe Wink an apology...

GO BLUE! For me, Sherrone saved his job today. Wink has finally figured things out the past couple weeks. Time to focus on recruiting and a new OC for next year. I wonder if any Ohio players will get suspended for the playoffs? I'm sure Michogan players won't care if they get suspended from the Little Caesars Bowl. Lol

I predict Warren will go to a MAC school and have a decent season next year. At least he will always have the Ohio St win!

Sorry not sorry wtf ... wtf.. part of me is wtf was that all year. 2nd thought don't let this game fool you we need 2 new coordinators. Offensive play calling was still ass at times and completely non compatible to a bryce underwood. Wink pisses me off! When he's motivated he can coach. Just not sure he's motivated all the time

Chowman said...

No no no. That's what pisses me off. He can coach like that against osu yet go thru the motions against Washington. Fuck that. I don't neef a DC that coaches when he wants to

Chowman said...

He don't win a Naty, HE GONE!

szanreno said...

Like it or not Wink's defense won that game.... Not saying it will continue but for one game his defense was the reason...

Chowman said...

Szanreno if Sherrone can light a fire under wink's ample ass fine otherwise we neec to move on

The Team, The Team, The Team. How Sweet It Is!

Past history tells us it probably won't continue, just giving credit where credit is due.

Chowman said...

Szanreno that's fine I just tend to play the long game

In the OSU locker room after the game .... the defeated Buckeyes were singing "Can't buy me love"(victory) AKA: {{{20 million dollars worth of players}}}. Sweet, unexpected victory! Now will the buckeyes go for a new coach.... stayed tuned! Will Day stay?

When I wrote the game plan, I was expecting a competitive loss, but hoping for a win. I wasn’t expecting Michigan to win because I didn’t think Ohio State was going to abandon their bread and butter…passing the ball. The only things that makes any sense is some combination of the front four was getting to Howard, the 7 in coverage didn’t give Howard any options, and or Howard was injured by that hit from Page…combined with the Ohio State coaches crapping the bed.

Regardless, this is four straight for Michigan…and there are no excuses which makes it the best one because they are a shadow of their teams from the previous 3 wins. They don’t have a good QB, the OC is terrible (to be fair we should see how he does when Michigan has a real QB), and the best player on each side of the ball was out lol. Michigan lost 17 or 18 starters and 4 coaches, meanwhile Ohio State spent $20+ million on their roster and is loaded with 5 star players. Their fans might say, oh Ohio State missed two field goals, but Michigan lost out on points with that early turnover on downs and then that interception on the goal line, so that’s a weak excuse.

That little temper tantrum when Michigan tried to plant a flag shows how immature and soft they are. It seems to be a team that is largely composed of mental midgets. I hope they lose a few starters for their playoff game. Off-topic, but Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt should never call The Game again…their bias is ridiculous and makes it tough to watch. I’ll take Jason B and Brock Huard over the other two clowns.

What makes it even worse is they had the officials on their side. Ohio State’s O-line was holding all game…I don’t think there were any holding calls. The Buckeyes superstar receiver threw a punch at a Michigan staffer and wasn’t ejected, and then on their only touchdown he should have been called for offensive pass interference. They’re soft and immature. You can get in their heads and Day craps the bed under pressure.

As for Michigan, the players and coaches should responsibly enjoy this victory, and then it’s back to work for the coaches tomorrow. Wednesday’s signing day…let’s see if this does anything for recruiting. As for the bowl game, if Graham, Grant, and the other upperclassmen want to sit out of the bowl game to prep for the NFL Draft, I’m 100% fine with that. Have them come along in a mentoring capacity. They have done a great job at Michigan, and I don’t see any reason for them to risk their pro career for a meaningless bowl game.

Wink has done a great job moving the defense to a bend, but don’t break mentality with selective aggression. This is the way forward for this team. As for the offense, it’s still a mess. Just playing Devil’s advocate, but it’s tough to judge Campbell when he didn’t really have a Power 5 caliber QB which really narrowed the playbook in my opinion, so with a lot of hesitation I have to say that they need to see what he can do with Underwood.

Ryan Day is a coward (butthole surfer). He did nothing to brake-up melee. I would like to give him a Free shave with Mace as a preconditioner, and have someone hold him down and dry-shave his little stones with a rusty "pocket knife." Day wake up! Win on the field and the opposing team will not plant a flag > DUH!!!!

ScottyDoggs said...

Day is probably wearing night-time "depends" so he does not soil his wife/sheets while he waits to find]s out if he has to start a hotdog vending wagon because he is history.

High Sierra Howard said...

Terrible offensive game plan by OSU. I think Day wanted to play bully ball to show that they weren't soft and got away from their strength, the passing game.

Agree on Gus Johnson. Weird. He made no comment on Texas planting the flag in Ann Arbor (he called that game) and the OU team planting the flag in Columbus a few years back. Joel Klatt pushes back a bit and Gus Johnson doubles down. Clearly he has his favorites/enemies - Michigan is not on his favorite list. HE has a good voice, but he's not bright. Klatt raises Gus' stature.

•Defense stood on its head. All heart.
•Offense was impotent as usual. Should have won by 2 TDs w an avg offense.
•Sherrone had the team motivated and focused.
•Gus and Joel were highly irritating. Confused. I know Gus grew up a Michigan fan. The media, as evident during the election coverage, can twist things to fit their narrative. Evidently, sports is no different. Poor take, Gus.
•Refs let Ohio St linger too long on the field after the game. As The Offspring song goes, You gotta keep em separated!
•Will be wearing my Michigan gear with pride! HAIL TO THE VICTORS!!

Odd that Michigan man isn’t making comments today🤣. I guess he’s in Dubai 🤷‍♂️🤣

szanreno said...

Didn't Oregon and Texas do the flag thig in Ann Arbor. No incidents. Face it, it wasn't the flag, it was the embarrassment.

ScottyDoggs said...

Ryan Day silently approve of the gangster tactics of the Buckeyes ....what if it got carried away and some one got hurt. DAY IS A PIECE OF FECAL MATTER THAT CAN TALK AND WALK! Now I HOPE Michigan SPENDS 100 MILLION, JUST TO BEAT HIS FAT ASS. I would even contribute 10% of my pay towards Michigan's NIL program (except I am retire)

Chowman said...

Scotty, he probably encouraged it. I think that kind of stuff is stupid. Its like when a team gets pissed and wants to fight when the other team runs up the score. You don't want Michigan planting their flag in your turf, win the effing game. You were the #2 team in the land, WIN. Win or shut your holes! and to be clear, I'm not fan of trash talking. I'd rather do the talking on the field. That being said, OSU is the same effing school that tore down the Michigan banner in 1973. So yeah, pretty much a long history of being punk ass losers.

Chowman said...

Scotty, its even more tasty that Michigan didn't spend $20M and still beat Day for .... not the 1st time, not the 2nd time, not the 3rd time, but the 4th time in a row. I said it before, either OSU wins the Naty or Ryan Day is calling plays for some other program somewhere. Losing 4 straight games to Michigan is not going to be tolerated.

Chowman said...

Brady, I didn't like any of the post game antics by either team. Did Michigan need to plant their flag? NO! but I get after that season, and everyone, including this fan counting them out against OSU, I get it. For OSU, if you don't want someone planting their flag on your turf: WIN THE EFFING GAME! You were the #2 ranked team, probably didn't deserve it, but win the damn game! Otherwise shut your mouths and take your medicine. Two things are as true as ever. OSU is soft as melted butter and Michigan has taken up residency in Ryan Day's head. He's getting close to rival James Franklin as being an ass in-game coach. Their play calling made no sense after the opening drive. But that's what Ryan Day always does. Gets too cutesy!

Chowman said...

I've seen Day do this time and time again. He's getting to be as bad as an in-game coach as James Franklin. The guy really has no feel for the game.

ScottyDoggs said...

I am starting to get carried away with the postings .... but a question to everyone .... what was more satisfying > beating Ohio State 13-10 yesterday, or winning the Naty last year. I vote for beating Ohio State! (maybe because it's more recent)

If want fun, go to 11warriors and read their posts & comments. Bucknuts are freaking!

Brady2017 said...

Michigan should've planted that flag on the front lawn of Ryan Day's house cuz we own his ass! Lol

Brady2017 said...

I honestly think MichiganMan is slightly mentally impaired. Might be autistic. I'll do some digging next time he's in here.

Brady2017 said...

Cryin Ryan= HE GONE! Just hope they don't bring Uncle Urban back.

Brady2017 said...

Oh they both feel good. Only difference is the Natty feeling lasts about a decade. Beating Blowhio St only lasts til next year.

Chowman said...

Both are satisfying in their own ways. But I have to say winning a game nobody expected you to win has to be just a little more satisfying

Chowman said...

Put it this way I stood for the entire 4th quarter yesterday. Didn't do that at all during the Naty run. There just was more juice from this game for me and not sure why.
