Its funny to me that people outside of Michigan's ecosystem think things differently then Wolverine fans. Josh Gattis wins the Coordinator of the Year award running Jim's offense and then gets fired after receiving the award. Fails at Miami and now at Maryland. Also see Warde being in charge of the CFP Committee.
People in football get credit for being "good" when other factors are in play. Michigan has been late to the NIL game but now has gone "all in" pushing all their chips to the middle of the table. Michigan has the top player in 2025 in their backyard and a new NIL organization that was just introduced yesterday that has the goal of bring Bryce to Ann Arbor.
Now news is breaking that Michigan is starting to get predictions for 5-star IMG LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng. Which is also really good news if he commits and signs with Michigan.
I know what your thinking: Is this Sherrone or is it the NIL money?
Michigan has the academics, on TV every week, top tier facilities, best in class S&C program, winnest program in college football history, just won the NC, long line of NFL players, coaches, and ownership, etc. What it didn't have was money for players. That has now changed.
I hope its Sherrone, I know its not Wink. But I also know, the money doesn't hurt!
Right now the momentum in recruiting is the strongest argument to keeping Sherrone in his role.
- Joel Klatt tweeted out that Jessie Minter is "one of the best coaches I've been around" He has been killing in the NFL with Jim this year. Was Jessie a better pick for Michigan head coach then Sherrone? NFL coaching experience with John, father is a former college head coach and on staff, now will probably be a hot candidate for a head coaching job in the NFL next season.
- MACtion was crazy last night. I think the Buffalo game is still going on! 99 points on a Tuesday, yes please!

Let's be honest, this is Michigan doing the recruiting, not Sherrone. You could send my dog to a recruit's house with a letter of intent from UM stuck in his collar, bark twice, and the recruit would sign it.
Don't forget, contracts and revenue paychecks are expected next year. Read the tea leaves.
Bob, so what you're saying is Sherrone was only good because of Jimmy? Ding ding ding! Winner winner, chicken dinner!!
So to clarify on my post yesterday about LC: I was told, his players loved him for the most part. I mean, you'll always have a few guys that think they were done wrong. Outside the football program, he came off as a condescending Richard! I believed it at the time as the company I worked for had a summer event. One of the executives was a UofM alum and had connections with the football team. He arranged for LC to come to our summer event and sign autographs. Not sure if he did it as a favor, or my company paid him, but LC looked like he didnt' want to be bothered. One of my buddies wanted to go up and get an autograph and said lets go. I'm just not into that sort of thing but when up with him. LC was a prick! Had a snarky answer for any question he was asked. Look, I get it, that would not be something I'd want to do, but then I'd just say NO if asked to do something like that. I was also told that LC didn't think the University did enough for him to recognize that he brought them Naty after such a long dry spell. And as Brady said, was no surprise his grandson spurned Michigan!
The Block M goes a long way and why the Michigan job will always be a coveted coaching job. If they can step up the NIL its just make it easier to bring in Moore's replacement. sorry, maybe one day Moore will be some great football coach, but the Michigan football coach is not an internship and you don't get to learn on the job
Paranoid Lloyd....
Money talks lound than any coach out there.....Get the money to the players and get them here....new era of college football...I hate it more then anything....what you guys think of that?
Blue for life!!
Unfortunately is the new landscape of college football. Look I was all for players getting paid for their NIL, but I thought it would max out at maybe $50K for the elite players. Paying kids out of HS millions of dollars is insane and in my opinion ruining the sport. I do think eventually there will be some sort of self correction as a number of schools have gotten burned.
Wow, interesting stuff! I'm not into autographs, either. The time I talked to Bo, I gushed compliment after compliment. Bo just replied, "Whatever you say, Brady!" I left feeling like I didn't have a dick anymore. Sometimes we only ge to see someone's public persona. I just saw a documentary about Prince. He would barely talk in public to the press, but in private was the life of the party. Maybe Lloyd wanted to be gruff like Bo.
Hate the game, not the player. Ward thought the elitism of UM would outweigh any $$ that a recruit could possibly be interested in. Reality hits and they realize that the high ground on the morale podium is also a spot where you get to a 5-5 record. This is college sports now. Sad, but it's the game we now find ourself in. This is why the Saban's quit; they realize this is a new era and they don't want to compete in it.
They gave players an inch for NIL and they took a mile.
True
Brady, I've had the opportunity to be in the same place as some local sport celebrities. I've seen how people crowd around them. I've never been in the crowd. I just look at it like this, I value my privacy and I can understand that celebrities are probably no different. I used to work at a bar where the Lions would hang out back in the day. Nicest, most down to earth guy was Mike Utley. Wanted to be treated like everyone else. Total tragedy what happened to him. Another really nice guy was Chris Speilman! Same with Lomas Brown, Kevin Glover and Jerry Ball! I actually got into it with one of the back up OL/LS over a game of pool. Thought we were going to square off and up came Ken Dallifor and I thought I was dead. He told his teammate to shut his mouth and sit down, that he represented the Detroit Lions and the OL and was embarrassing all of them. Then he turned to me and I'm like "oh boy" and he says, if any Detroit Lion gives you any more problems, you come get me, I'll straighten them out.
Aim, you need to be careful. You start using terms like elitism or arrogance in reference to Michigan and people will come after you. I know for personal experience!
Great stories...
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but when a coach is promoted to head coach, even if he was lights out as the position coach or coordinator, in college he normally doesn't have time to handle his old position. So who ever he brings in would be doing the work. Minter just like Moore would have to depend on the new guy. IMHO!!!
