Tre Burke split the Big Ten Freshman of the Year honor with Cody Zeller from Indiana. Cody had a very good year but Michigan doesn't get a share of the Big Ten Title with out Tre Burke. Tie goes to the champion.
Coach of the year: Tom Izzo? This is one I clearly don't understand. If John Beilein doesn't win it, the award should go to Tom Crean at Indiana. Izzo would had been third, if I had a vote. Just because Izzo had a poor year with good talent last year, doesn't mean he should win the award with good talent and a better coaching effort this year.
Burke gets on the 2nd All Big Ten Team from the Coaches & Media.
Hardaway is on the 3rd team for the Coaches & Media.
- Recruiting Insiders are predicting a big week for the Michigan Football program on the recruiting trail. My prediction is 2 LB's will commit and my best guess is McCray who is visiting today and had scheduled an announcement on Thursday (could come today) and Ben Gedeon sometime this week. McCray has made his decision and the news should come out at anytime.
- Michigan could have 8 non-committed recruits visiting this weekend including: Ty Isaac, DE Christian Lacouture, OL Colin McGovern, DB Gareon Conley and others. I assume Colin is still coming even with the reports Michigan is sticking with 5 OL recruits right now.

It seems as though Izzo's award under these good ole boy conditions may be more about being an old school B10 style coach of the three coaches, and Beilein's style is untraditonal [more Big East] for this conference. Crean is still paying his dues as the newer kid on the block, even with former MSU connections. I guess what I'm thinking in a word, "politics."
