Wolverine Wednesday: Happy Days for The Detroit Pistons

Professional sports in the Detroit area haven't been very good recently.   The Lions have flipped their organization, the Tigers are showing some life after being down for years, and the Pistons completely cleared their roster the last few years to rebuild.  76'ers fans are tired of trusting the process so I hope its quicker for the Pistons.

Last night a huge step in the right direction happened after they won the NBA lottery and got the #1 pick.  Most expect that pick to be Oklahoma State Cade Cunningham.  He is 6'8 220 pounds and seems to have an all around game.  He is a strong outside shooter and can also drive to the basket, any weakness might be his defense but is a pretty good rebounder.  Add a juke box, the Fonz, and you might just have some Happy Days to come for the Detroit Pistons.

Speaking of the NBA Draft it seems our own Franz Wagner is predicted to go to the Kings at #9.  The Kings struggle with defense and Franz could immediate defense as he continues to develop his offensive game.  BTW: Who was the Big Ten's defensive player of the year again?  (Not Franz)

  • Recent Michigan visitor QB Conner Harrell is announcing his decision on July 4th.   His finalist seem to be down to Michigan, UNC, Northwestern and ASU.   UNC might be the team to beat.

  • 2022 Clearwater (FL) Gaither 4 star EDGE Mario Eugenio who visited last weekend will announce his decision on 7/5.
