Michigan Thursday: TC and MI

The football team continued its tour of Michigan and spent time in Traverse City and Mackinac Island the last couple days.  This is a nice vacation to see the state and relax for a bit before the camp starts.

Jimmy won free ice cream in a rubber duck race down the water slide at the Grand Hotel, he then took to a phone video review because he felt his son came in 3rd place and also won free ice cream.  The officials changed the call and Jack was now the bronze medal winner and got to enjoy some free cream.

On a side note, Jedd Fisch head coach at Arizona (and former Michigan OC under Jimmy) loved the idea of touring the state they play in and will copy the idea next summer in Arizona.

Michigan will be coming home this weekend and hosting one of their biggest recruiting events of the summer, the BBQ at the Big House.  The most important visitor is 2024 5-star QB Jayden Davis.  It's clear Michigan whiffed on its QB recruiting so far in 2023 and maybe getting Jayden to commit will guarantee Michigan will not grab a QB (or at least not a highly ranked one) in the 2023 class.  There was even a rumor floating around that Michigan was trying to get Jayden to re-classify to 2023.   Either way the Maize and Blue carpet will be rolled out for the young man this weekend.  Jayden will also visit Georgia this week.

  • Kekoa Crawford (former Michigan and CAL WR) got released by Indy.
  • Former Michigan offensive lineman Michael Schofield signed with the Bears.
