Memo To Big Ten Football Coaches

This post is intended for the Big Ten coaches that were crying to the new Big Ten Commissioner on a video call this week.  I'm assuming Pete Thamel's information is accurate, which is a far leap for a guy that lives by the click, couldn't' spell journalism, and specializes in injury reports.

#1 - You don't change your signals every week?  Not sure if you've heard of TV or YouTube.  A freaking fan could record your signals.  Stop pretending you don't try to steal signals and you never change yours.

#2 - I can guess your prehistoric offensive plays.  Nobody needs advance scouting to guess your bad offensive plays.

#3 - Outside a few teams in the Big Ten.  You're not good at football.

#4 - The media coverage of this investigation has been ridiculously overblown and not always accurate.

#5 - There is a lot to go in this investigation, including if rules were broken.  Is 3rd party scouting allowed? The NCAA has already considered changing the rule, because it does not give teams a competitive advantage and everyone and their brother has a phone that records.

#6 - Look for solutions and stop blaming others for your bad football teams.   Helmet communication is here and every Big Ten team can afford it.

#7 - Sign Stealing is not illegal (I understand there is fine line and Michigan may have crossed it)

#8 - Michigan could have sent you their entire playbook and you wouldn't have been able to stop it.

#9 - What outcome are you looking for this season?  Have you met the Big Ten TV partners?  Michigan is playing a 2-win team in Primetime on Saturday.  You think that game might have better ratings than your game? So, sorry. 😪

#10 - The Big Ten is changing next year with brand new powerful teams.  You need to figure out how to play football better before you find yourself looking for a new job.  Which will probably happen anyway.

Bottom line: Every time your teams take the field and play terrible football, you make your program and the Big Ten look bad.  Build your programs, look for solutions, and stop crying to the boss for help.

Love it, Bob. Great post! You are all over this my man. Me, personally, have checked out from all the fake media coverage of this story. I couldn't take it anymore. All the piling on, the crying and whining, along with false fabricated stories. Reminds me of 'Deflate-gate'. These losers will do anything to bring down a team at the top. Bunch of has-been, pathetic B1G coaches. And I guarantee you James (Hasn't won anything) Franklin and Ryan (Born on 3rd base) Day are the leading crybabies in this.

ESPN needs to just dissolve and go away. Joke of a network pandering to the Woke agenda and the SEC.

Word to the wise- Stop listening to 97.1 radio. They are geared to stir controversy, and always from a MSU perspective. Ever since I stopped listening to their rhetoric I feel 100% better.

I think it's time for the NCAA to come out and say exactly what they found so far.. and for the coaches and players to respond to the finding. So we can head toward an end of all this....

Ron- Can't respond to media speculation. Nothing's factual. Michigan hasn't even been served a notice of allegations by the NCAA. You want to pour more fuel onto the fire? Bad idea.

Heard this today. If sign stealing was important where conference and national titles depended on it would you put a low level assistant like Connor Stallions in charge of it? This is all going to come down to a fine on Harbaugh because he's responsible for what goes on on his sidelines. Unless he can show where rules training was done and Stallions signed off. But I wouldn't bet money on it. I agree to stop listening to the radio, along with all other social media. People are always going to make excuses when they lose, it's just human nature, this just gives them that excuse to use. If these coaches are honest with themselves in their heart of hearts they know why they lost those games. Pitiful they can't be more honest with themselves. Excuses do not make for improvement...

Perfectly said Bob!

I guess the main question - how can B10 impose a penalty on Mich if there hasn't been any actual investigation? It sure feels like a ready, fire, aim pile-on.

Brady, media speculation? A firm was hired to investigate Michigan. What's a bad idea you explain to me getting it out in the open and getting it over with and move on with the season. End the speculation

Personally I'm ready for this to be over. Death penalty(I jest) or slap on the wrist. I'm just tired of all the talk. Piss or get off the pot. To non-UofM fans Harbaugh is Charles Manson and his staff is the Manson family. And for UofM fans, there's nothing to see here. Just to be clear: UofM isn't under investigation for sign stealing. That's part of football at every level. What they are under investigation for is in person scouting of future opponents and recording them electronically! What Michigan did was take it to a whole new level, to the stratosphere. At the end of the day we broke the rules. You might not like the rules, but they are there for a reason. What makes this look really bad is that about the time Michigan and Connor Stallions started this stuff, Michigan suddenly became a juggernaut. Just sayin!

Look everybody bends the rules, if you're not, you're not trying hard enough to win, but Harbaugh has a tendency to take the rule book, tear it to shreds, wipe his hindend with it, then throw it in the NCAA's face. Does the NCAA deserve it? sure, but it doesn't mean there'll be no repercussions.

Screw all that, I want to read the alleged manifesto...

Ron- You never saw the video of the two attorneys telling people what to do when you get pulled over and the cops start asking questions? The attorneys tell you, "Shut the F up". Nothing can and will be used against you that way.

Joel Klatt made a great comment about this. He said, if coaches had really wanted helmet speakers for the QB, they could have done it 10 years ago. The reason they haven't pushed for it is because each coach thinks his system of stealing signs is better than the other guy's. They all do this in some form or fashion and think they have a competitive advantage because of it. The pearl clutching is astounding. And what kind of country is this where these dudes say "we don't care about evidence, punish them now!" I think all this will do is be an example to the coaches of weak character of how to assassinate your competition, how to beat them off the field because you can't beat them on it! Dbag Day and Franklin are gutless cowards.

Good post Rudy. Strong points made.

and Rudy, most won't admit it, but they deep down envy what Michigan did. It's like when you were a kid and you parents bought you a brand new moped. And you're tooling around the 'hood showing it to everyone, then the kid in the 'hood everybody hated rolls up on the brand new Honda Elsinore 125cc. That's Jim and Michigan. He has the brand new top of the line dirt bike while the rest of college football is rocking mopeds and ten speeds.
