Michigan Thursday: Kirk Caught Fishing on Michigan's Roster

Seems there was some tomfoolery between Michigan's Cade McNamara and Iowa during the off season where he decided to transfer.  So much that head coach Kirk Ferentz and WR coach Jon Budmayr are expected to serve a one game suspension against Illinois State to start the season.  Kirk has a press conference today to address the situation.   The rumored allegation is that Iowa contacted Cade prior to the Transfer Portal opening.  That Budmayr recruited Cade at Wisconsin and had a relationship with the Big Ten Champion winning QB prior.

Instead of Kirk and Jon sitting out a game, how about Iowa sends over to Michigan a TE or a skilled CB's?

  • Arkansas DC says everyone steal signals.  Wow, really?
  • I don't know if you have been keeping up with Dusty on social media since he got the Michigan job, but that guy seems to be doing everything right.  In the last week, he has photobombed a social media post with the ESPN insiders at a Bruce Springsteen concert, shown fishing with the team, and now having an off site meeting/activity with Coach B.  The guy just gets it.
  • In a battle of the 2 highest profile coaches moves in this off season.  Michigan Basketball will face Arkansas in the Jimmy V Classic on ESPN.
  • Speaking of former Michigan QB's Alan Bowman is still in college and will play for OK State. In other long time college QB's: Brett Gabbert of Miami (Ohio) will make college football history by starting his 6th opening game.
  • Nebraska will be starting Dylan Raiola at QB, we should do a contest on where Dylan will be playing next season.

I'll go out on a limb and say Raiola won't be at Nebraska next year. Maybe he's a good kid, but his recruitment made him seem a bit flaky. Thanks NIL! Full disclosure, I was all for kids to get paid for the use of their name, image, and likeness, but what we're dealing with is the total lack of institutional control. It's akin to letting drug cartels run countries! I don't follow the big green turds, i.e. Sparty, but I heard a rumor that they paid Chiles a 7 figure NIL deal. Sparty wtf were you thinking if that's true? Dude's taken 53 total snaps in college and he's getting paid more than some QBs that got drafted into the NFL. Cabin pressure has definitely been lost.

Bighouseblog coming in strong today! Great reporting by Bob on some very interesting topics. I didn't know about the Cade shananigans or the Dusty photo bomb. I'll have to look that one up.

Dusty is absolutely crushing it right now. I will be attending the UM, Oakland game at L.C.A. to check this squad out, even tho it is just an exhibition game.

Everyone knows teams will steal signals (if the other team is stupid enough to let them). It seems the anti-Michigan media here (97.1 and most of their MSU alum hosts) seem to be hellbent on tarnishing the history of UM's Championshipship. The only thing Michigan related they will talk about is Spygate. Smh Wouldn't expect anything less from those haters. That's why I don't listen to 97.1 during football season. GO BLUE!!

Chowman- That Chiles NIL rumor is a doozy. Leave it to Sharty to make a blunder like that. Teammates will revolt if this guy flops. Can't wait to see how this one plays out.

Dylan Raiola hype train is a joke. His dad was a flake when he played for the Lions and got into arguments with fans. Now we have two head cases.

You all underestimate the facilities, fanbase, and football atmosphere in Lincoln, NE. It's the best in the B1G and arguably in college football.

Thomas Salvi- The things you mentioned are great until a 350 lbs. Michigan lineman smashes a soft Husker in the mouth.

I have NE friends and yes, they are devout. But the biggest characteristic they all share is disappointment. What a garbage team they've put on the field for the last several years. Rhule isn't going to get them to the next level either. I wouldn't mind seeing them get back to being a contender, but they aren't going to be anytime soon.

Nebraska has the best facilities, fanbase and atmosphere is the B10? I agree they are good, I could even go as far as saying strong...but the best in the B10? Lincoln atmosphere and facilities better than Oregon, Ohio State? USC? Michigan? I am not seeing that.

Good? OK, I will buy that but "best in B10"? wow. That is quite a statement.

If that was true you would think they would bring in a stronger coach than a lifetime journeyman in Matt Rhule.
