A Carr with Les Miles

It seems the tide as turned in the coaching search. Mgoblog is now reporting that it looks like Les Miles is now the #1 candidate for job. Les has a lot of support from some high profile boosters and people in the Administration. One person that doesn't seem to be a fan of Les is Lloyd. There still seems to be some bad blood over a cornerback recruit Jai Eugene who de-committed to Michigan two days before signing day (and of course signed with LSU). This seems to be the #1 reason why Kirk has gotten so much attention this week. Kirk seems clearly Lloyd's first choice to replace him.

So what now? There are unconfirmed reports that the deal is done to Michigan initiating contact on Sunday. I assume the truth is somewhere in the middle. I imagine Michigan has made contact through a 3rd party and working on the package they would like to propose to Les.

Either way it's great news. I still believe Brian Kelly is a great plan B, if Michigan can't come to terms with Les. I don't believe Brian will be employed by the University of Cincinnati much longer either way. There are too many good jobs available right now.

Stay tuned folks this is going to get fun. Look for a new head coach to be announced by this time next week.
