The media got to tour some of the new Michigan Stadium suites yesterday. Here are some photo's from the Freep:
- They have sold roughly 70% of the suites/club seats so far for the 2010 season.
- Seems every one takes their Verizon phones to the Big House for games. Which prompted this announcement from Verizon today: With more than 100,000 people converging on Ann Arbor during Football Saturdays, Verizon Wireless has activated a COLT (cell on light truck) that doubles capacity of its high-speed wireless network in and around Michigan Stadium.
- Athlete/LB Josh Furman has set a visit date to Ann Arbor for 9/12
- QB Munchie Legaux continues to be on Michigan's radar. Here is what Munchie had to say: Although he remains uncommitted, Legaux recently narrowed his finalists to three schools. They were in order Oregon, Michigan and Baylor, not surprisingly all spread offense programs. Tulane remains a consideration, he said, particularly if he decides to remain close to home.
- Michigan Stadium switches from Pepsi to Coke. Well done, Mr. Martin. Well done!
News and Notes from RR's press conference yesterday:
- Question: Will you talk about one of your walk-ons, Jared Van Slyke and how game ready he is. Coach Rodriguez: “Yeah Jared is a neat story. He hadn’t played for us. He sat out last year in his redshirt year, but he’s been very active at safety for us. He’s a smart football player. He’s involved in a lot of the special teams. He’s going to get a chance to play next weekend.” Jared is the son of Tiger's coach Andy Van Slyke.
- Jason Olesnavage is the leader right know as the top kicker. But the final decision has not been made.
- Patrick Omameh is going to get some playing time this year on the offensive line and gives the overall line some flexibility and depth.
- Mike Shaw has had a good fall camp after being out of all of spring ball with an injury.
- Freshman Craig Roh is Brandon Herron's back up right now.
- All 3 QB's are at the top of the depth chart
