Michigan picked up it's long awaited 17th commitment last night in LB Ben Gedeon. It has been clear Ben had been a silent commit or had some type of agreement with the coaches since the coaches have been telling recruits they are full at LB for some time now.
Ben is regarded a top 250 recruit and 4 star prospect across the board coming into Ann Arbor at 6'3 215 pounds from Hudson, Ohio. Ben played RB, TE and LB in HS but is projected at LB in college: He was named All-Ohio Division-1 after racking up 95 tackles, with five for loss and six quarterback hurries. His instincts and athleticism will help him in the transition to the next level, according to Hudson coach Ron Wright.
"I think that you're looking at a guy that's just at the tip of the iceberg," Wright said of his star player. "How much better is he going to be? You look at him now and then look five years or four years from now what is he going to be like? Well, I think he's going to be even better than he is because his work ethic is fantastic".
Ben had 12 offers from likes of OSU, Stanford, Virgina, BC, Penn State, MSU, Pitt, WVU and many more. He is a high academic kid with a ton of athletic talent and many of top academic schools in the country wanted him. This was also a kid that Urban Meyer really wanted but Michigan was in early on him and he called Greg Mattison last night to seal the deal.
With Ben's commitment it now means Michigan is full at LB unless EJ Levenberry wants to come to Michigan. He is one of the top players in the country and EJ says Michigan and FSU are tied as his leader. EJ will be on campus this weekend for the Spring Game and might have one chance to commit this weekend or has a short window to so after his visit.
- The Michigan Basketball Team is no longer recruiting Amedeo Della Valle. With Spike's commitment and Trey coming back it looks like they want to use their open scholarship for a player in next years class. ADV has a similar skill set to Nick Stauskas.
- The Under Armour All American Game might just have to change it's name to The Future Wolverines Showcase as Kyle Bosch just got invited to the UA game.
- Ron English, head coach of EMU hinted on the radio this morning that he will be announcing a couple roster additions as soon as he can. That hint most likely is Darryl Stonum joining the Eagles. The big question is if Darryl can play this year, since he will just have transferred but did sit out last year. I think he will be eligible to play right away.

Question: With Arkansas losing Petrino their coach, are there any potential candidates/commits that Michigan may want and have a good shot at?
They only have 1 recruit for the 2013 class and it's a 3 star RB, so I am guessing no.
But good thought!
