Nike has a new way to promote itself and some of the top high school football players in the US by inviting them to a special camp on the campus of Nike in Oregon called, The Opening.
The Nike web site describes the opening: A chosen few will learn from the best during a week of unparalleled
competition. Every aspect of the game will be put to the test by the world’s top
players and coaches. This is your chance to recognize football’s greatest
opening.
This is a special event for the kids, they are treated like kings for a week. They get to hang out with Hall of Famers and current NFL players. It's an honor to receive an invite and participate in this event.
The latest Michigan commit to receive an invite is Jake Butt who just got his invite yesterday. As many of you have guessed by now, I took a pass on some of the great post headlines that went through my head letting you know about Butt and his opening invite. :)
Joining Jake at the opening will be Shane Morris, Mike McCray, Jourdan Lewis, David Dawson and Taco Charlton. This is a great Michigan recruiting class and could go down as one of the best ever.
