I hate to lead a post with injury news but we heard yesterday that RB Drake Johnson from Ann Arbor Pioneer who beat out highly touted freshman Green and Smith tore his ACL in the Central game and will miss the entire season. My guess is he will get an injury redshirt and still have 4 more years in A2 if he wants it.
From Coach Hoke's presser Joe Reynolds is day to day and Avery is close to being ready to play. I hope when he says close he means Saturday night at 8:00. Funchess just had a cramp if you were worried.
- Derrick Green is now the #2 RB behind Fitz.
- More Drake news: Drake Harris visited A2 on Saturday, he is out a couple weeks with a hamstring issue. RB Mike Weber was also on the sideline.
- Congrats to the new Wolverines in the NFL: Kovacs made the Dolphins practice team, Roh made the practice team for Panthers, Omameh made the 49'ers practice squad, Demens made Arizona's practice squad and Denard and Big Will made the 53 man roster for the Jags and Jets. Mike Cox made the Giants and Junior Hemmingway made KC's 53!
- These guys did not make the team: WR Roy Roundtree (Cincinnati), OG Elliott Mealer (New Orleans), WR Steve Breaston (New Orleans), OL David Molk and Steve Schilling (San Diego), P Zoltan Mesko (New England), WR Braylon Edwards (New York Jets).
- Zoltan has already signed with the Steelers and look for Molk & Schilling to get picked up as well.
- These guys are good: Malik McDowell had 5 TFL's in his first game after transferring to Southfield and Damien Harris 2nd game: 13 carries, 352 yards, 5 TDs, out of game 2 minutes into the 3rd quarter.

Drake Johnson redshirted last year so he won't get one unless Michigan can prove they reshirted him for injury reasons (which doesn't seem like they did for that reason)
He lost a season of eligbility and only have 3 left
Read this is an SC paper after the Gamecocks first game. Interesting.
North Carolina continually played away from Clowney's side with short passes and quick runs. When the Tar Heels did come his way, left tackle James Hurst — an all-ACC player with NFL hopes of his own — did a solid job keeping No. 7 in check.
Clowney didn't agree, saying it was more North Carolina's tempo than Hurst's blocking that got to him. "I wasn't really impressed like I was against the guy from Michigan," Clowney said, referring to Wolverines' Taylor Lewan.
Right before halftime, Clowney appeared to be breathing heavy in the 90-degree heat and humidity

I believe he could get an injury redshirt for this year even with his redshirt his freshman year if they apply to the Big Ten/NCAA for a 6th year. Since it happened in game one, I believe it would be approved.
Clowney has always said, "that guy from Michigan" was one of the best tackles he has faced. He mentioned that during SEC Media Days as well.
Horrible for Drake, but if he's going to be awarded a medical red shirt, he will likely still have more than ample chance to stake his claim on the #1 or #2 spot in the backfield.
The good news is we have four capable and hungry backs chomping at the bit and aren't likely going to suffer for Drake's injury. Maybe this keeps one of the others from getting tired of waiting on playing time and transferring out. I wish we had the same problem at QB.
GO BLUE!!!
