Big Ten Preview Week 5

The Big Ten had a better week last weekend and week 5 starts the unofficial weekend of the Big Ten season as there are 5 in conference match-ups.

Big Ten Game of The Week:

Cincinnati at Ohio State:  The Bearcats could be "sneaky good" this year and were still not sure how good the Buckeyes are after losing to a Va Tech team that hasn't played well since their visit to Columbus.  Cincy has only played two games after they started their season a couple weeks later then most.   There could be a ton of points scored in this one.  OSU is giving 16 points.  OSU 42 Cincinnati 34

Wyoming at MSU:  This is a unique game and a noon start.  Wyoming has had decent teams in the past but they haven't seen any defense like the one the Spartans play.   MSU is giving 31.5 points which seem like a lot, but they did put up a 100 points against EMU last weekend.   MSU 28 Wyoming 7

Northwestern at PSU:  If Michigan is the most disappointing team in the Big Ten this year, then the Wildcats are a close second.  They have been bad and now have to travel to Happy Valley.  Penn State isn't that good but they are better then the Wildcats.  Northwestern is getting 10 points, I doubt it will be that close.   PSU 27 NW 10

Iowa at Purdue:  Iowa starts slow every year and then is playing pretty good football by the time the Michigan game rolls around.  Iowa will struggle early and pull away in the end.   Purdue getting 10.5 at home.   Iowa 21 Purdue 6

Tulane at Rutgers:  Ok?  You probably have a better guess then me.   Rutgers is at home and favored by 11.5 points.   Rutgers 24 Tulane 21

South Florida at Wisconsin:  The badgers try to run for a 1000 yards in this one.  They are favored by 34 points.  Wisconsin 51 USF 14

Maryland at IU:  Indiana is coming off one of the biggest wins in their program.  I'm still trying to get my head around them beating a ranked SEC team on the road.   IU sells a few tickets this week as they are favored by 4.5 points.  IU 31 Maryland 21

Illinois at Nebraska:   Illinois will get it figured out at some point.  Nebraska is a 20 point favorite.  Nebraska 38 Illinois 5
